College basketball starts this weekend!

Basketball season has arrived in Chapel Hill. North Carolina holds its first practice of the season tonight by hosting "Late Night with Roy" -- their own version of Midnight Madness. Players will perform skits and be involved in contests and fans will get their first look at freshmen Quentin Thomas and Marvin Williams. Carolina Blue will have complete coverage of the event, including photos and live updates.

This has completely sneaked up on me. Anyone surprised that its that time of year again?

I can't wait to see this Tar Heel team that returns the entire starting lineup from last year. Plus we've added two top guys for this year.

Marvin Williams will be a stud and should help out tremendiously underneath. Something the Tar Heels have been missing for a long, long time.

CarMike: This team will be cutting down the Nets in St. Louis in April. Not only is this the most talented team in the Country but now they have a year under Roy, are experienced and have depth. The ACC is loaded and Wake and tech will provide stiff competition at the top but I love the chances of the heels this year.

yes, MM did sort of sneak up on me as well. I keep up w/ all the Tar heel news daily but I've ben wrapped up w/ the Jets great start and the Yanks getting set to get back to another WS. My teams are in store for some great things over the next few months.

Actually watched the Terps MM (replay) on Comcast. .......... Yeah the TarHeel are loaded but theres seem to be alot expected from them too. ... BTW .... The Terps are JUST as loaded, returning 95% of the 2004 ACC Tournament Championship Team (just in case you forgot) with a Top 50 recruit coming into the mix......... AND VERY underrated - BUT that's OK too.

the heels need to start playing better against conference opponents. it'll be a tough task to win it all, but i expect at least an elite 8 appearance.

yeah the tar heels are going to be a great team this year, and i predict will beat duke twice.

but watch out for maryland. finally, a sport we can lose 7 games in and not be considered bad for the year......
