As most of you know, Mike gave us the play by play during the Chicago game 2 weeks ago.

Mike, I don't need you to do this, as I have subscribed to NFL Field Pass. I will be listening to the game. I don't want you to waste your time doing this, if no one is interested in you doing it.

So, if you want Mike to post the play by play, post your response here. Mike, I know your going to say no big deal. But, if you don't need to do it, why do it. :)

I thought there was usually a collection of posters doing this in the game thread for that week?

Personally, I think it is tough to post the play by play and watch the game as a fan. Seems more like a job. I have been able to chime in occasionally when I am tracking the game at NFL.com, but I don't have a laptop to watch the game with so I don't have actual experience in doing it.

However, Kenny has given Redskin play by play during away games for me when I couldn't get coverage and that was greatly appreciated.

Maybe summarize the quarter for folks not being able to see or hear. That way he's still doing that contribution he likes, while others get a nutshell view of how that quarter went. It also allows him time to put together a more creative approach in summarizing that quarter and definitely half-time.

i think that in the game thread, most of us who cant watch the game pretty much figure out what is happening. if you want, you could prbly just post in there every few plays about what is happening. we want you to enjoy watching the game and not feel obligated to do play by play.

Being a local, I don't need it, I get every Skins game. But Mike does an absolutely fantastic job doing the play by play. My understanding is that there are people that do need it, and CarMike brings it to them thoroughly and with everything you need to know. Again, a great, kind job by Mike bringing the game to people out of the area and overseas.

I'm sure Mike does a great job, but I can't see the use of him typing up what happens on every single play when you can see it happening live on NFL.com.....

IMO, if he wants to do it, he can. If he doesn't then don't do it.

I personally don't need it, but others that unfortunately can't watch the Skins might. And I wouldn't be saying we are going to pound the Pack, because we also said we were going to pound the Giants, the Browns and the Bears, and we only won one of those games :( But I sure hope we do!

I got the NFL ticket, but Mike shoudl do it. Many people who view here view as guests and not as members. There are many who will not see the game and Mike's play by play is essential to them.

But Mike posts the play-by-play with additional comments that Skins fans would appreciate.

I personally go to all the games or watch the rest on DirecTv, but not everyone can get to a TV all the time...

I think it is a good service to those who can't watch the games that also want their play by play to have a bit of Redskin flavor to it...

Thanks, Mike..!

Thank you TupaFan and others who are worried about me enjoying the game. That means a lot to me.

I'll keep on doing it though. I really don't mind. It seems to make my day a little bit more enjoyable. I don't get as mad when we screw up. lol I have to keep my head to keep up with the game.

And as PSF/dj stouty said, we have a lot of visitors here on game day. Two weeks ago there was consistently 3-7 people viewing the thread. normally there were 1-2 members and 3-7 visitors watching the thread.

IMO, if I can help out 1 person, rather its a member or visitor, to get the game, its worth my time.

So I will continue with the "play-by-play" thread.

Thanks again guys for the thoughts. ;)

OMT, the reason behind the "play-by-play" thread is due to the game thread, you can get confused a little. If we score a TD, you have several people reporting it. This way no can post in thread but myself. Makes it a little easier for viewers to follow the game.

This is the part of hailRedskins.com that is the best. A member who reaches out to anyone who wants to follow along with the game. Mike gives us his unique perspective along with the game play by play . . . For those who are logging in . . Enjoy! A big thanks to Mike for doing this !!!

You guys might want to archive this thread. The title could lead some in the wrong direction if they are in fact looking for a play-by-play thread.
