The 8-man washington wizards team that included such players as laron profit, peter john ramos, and michael ruffin just beat a full squad of 50-win grizzlies.

Ramos is a stud, he devestated the other centers in the olympics.

he has trouble on defense, but he knows the low post game really well.

Antawn Jamison with his 34 points wasn't too bad either. Like I said this team can beat the Lakers out for the division title. We are just a major Shaq injury away from a top 3 seed in the conference.

Also I noticed in the box score that Michael Ruffin had 11 Boards and 7 blocks. Thats the kind of hardnosed play we've been missing in the inside of our defense. Thats what we've been needing from Kwame and Heywood, hopefully Ruffin can keep this up for the season.

My bad, I'm still not over Shaq not being with the Lakers. I meant to say the Heat.

that was a big statement game for the wiz. in the past, they would have used the injuries and suspensions as an excuse and just threw the game away. jamison is going to be huge for this team. they'll be fun to watch once everyone comes back.

That was a great win for them and I hope it keeps coming. They really showed up to play and I happy for Dixon. I hope this continues when the regular starters return.

Juan Dixon is the feel good story of the Century!! For what he has been through, he is the poster boy for overcoming adversity! I wish nothing for the best for him. I would like to see him and Arenas out there more often, but size could kill them...

Glad to see the Wiz start off the season on a good note. I loved watching them fight back from an 18-point deficeit.
Jamison is a flat out stud...and Juan can get it done with the right personnel on the floor. My big worry is when Arenas, Hughes and Haywood all come back, how that will mix up the current chemistry.

Yeah, and toss Kwame in the mix shortly...Dixons stock is rising right now, as it did last year. Everyone needs a good guard, and he has proven he can play the 1 or 2. I like Hughes, but you have to wonder what EJ is thinking right now...

so how did juan dixon do? he's my favorite player. i always hoped that dixon, blake, andbaxter could form a dominant trio like they were at maryland, but oh well.

Juan did great, 28 points - 5 steals - 2 threes. Solid all around game. Whenever the Wiz play Memphis, I like to see Dixon and Earl Watson go at it. They have some history from the NCAA tourney when Dixon was a Sophomore. Watson and Jaron Rush had an alley oop fest when UCLA beat Maryland that year, I think by close to 30 points. Blake was on Watson, but Watson embarassed the freshman. When they play again this year, watch how Blake and Dixon hustle against Watson, it is written on thier faces...

I find it interesting that John Thompson feels that one of the keys to sucess for the Wizards this year will be the play of Steve Blake - who he considers the only TRUE point guard on the team. Problem will be finding the min. for him to be on the floor.

Yeah, Blake was groomed to be a true point, but I can't think of another backcourt with as much all around quickness than Arenas and Dixon. They could pose serious match up problems...
