I'm gonna make this thread so that people can help other people with certain aspects of the game. Like how to do 6man drivebys, where some of the secret items are (horse shoes, tags, seashells) and where some weapons are. Also little exploits or funny things like encounters with big foot are welcome :)

Okay here's my question...

Where can you find an M4 in Los Santos? I have foudn 2 AKs, 2 SMGs, 2 sawed-off shotguns, 5 body armors, a chainsaw, brass knuckles, tear gas, malatov cocktails, a machine pistol, desert eagle, Sniper Rifle, and regular pistol but no M4... :(

the train mission sucks. I found that you should ride the motorcycle just to the outside of the tracks to the right,big smoke seems to hit the people better when your not riding right down the middle of the other track. take the high road and beat the train out of the other side or jump over it and stay to the right again there should be two guys left so stay right and even with the front car and big smoke should get them before time is up

that mission almost cost me a playstation and a window

just hook up your low rider with some NOS and you should be able to smoke anybody in that last straight away to the boardwalk. Also, take your turns slow and angle yourself so you avoid them. If you start trying to crash into the other cars theyll just get more agressive and screw you up. I'm sure you know to just drive on the sidewalks or in the middle of the road in any straight aways. Also, trying to kill the other dude's wont work because their cars are indestructible (believe me, I circumvented the whole course, stole a bunch of cars and blocked the entrance. Then i shot the crap out of all the cars and even pushed a few into the ocean but they wouldnt ever die....). Anyways.... just practice driving the course and youll be fine.

FUNNY TIP: If you haul one of the low riders either by hauling them with a tow truck or the old fashioned way to one of you garages you have yourself an indestructable low rider :)

Big Smoke sucks, i hate him... i landed the bike onto the train so i finished that mission pretty quickly but believe me, it took a while to master that.

I mean I tagged like 45 things now and I haven't received anything rewarding whatsoever besides unlimited spray paint. Maybe im spoiled by the secret packages in the past but I want rewards for aimlessly wandering around!

Also, does anybody know what the clams do for you? I found like 4 today and I have no idea what they're for... anybody know where I can find some more clams? :)

Good Lord, Pyro... how'd you get all that crap? And how do you keep it? You get stripped of all your weapons every time you die, and so far I haven't seen any way to keep the guns you get.

How do you pimp? And how do you buy safe houses? God, I thought I was getting a handle on the game after completing about ten missions and making it to 9 G's... But usually I'm out there in a crappy car, crappy clothes, and holding a pistol or a sub if I'm lucky.

I've wasted about 500 bullets on his butt and thrown 13 grenades at him, im down to a sliver of life due to the grenades and hopes that he leaves at dawn. I was driving a motorcycle and i flew into the woods and there he was, i was scurred.

yeah, i picked it up, its pink and double sided.. and im not too sure that its for women... it was in the shower. As soon as you pick it up you get 2 stars and have to run past a whole bunch of cops. It's the most effective blunt object in the game but if i kill more than 2 people with it i start getting heat.

theres a car that looks like a hermes but looks more pimp-esque. Look for any cars that look like they came out of that old batman cartoon and just hit R3. you get around 23 grand for completing the pimp missions and da hoes pay you money for their services :)

Its called the broadway i think (the pimp-mobile). I played for awhile this afternoon, and finally got out of los santos. Now i'm in the badlands, but havent done the mission yet, but i have a question... WHere can i buy a safe house??? I has 22k and spent 10 of it on a house in los santos before i completed the missions. Now i have 12k and the only safe house in the town im in now is $20k.

I didn't know anything about a "Psycho killer" or Bigfoot.... LOL I'm going to have to go and see what this is all about.... I'm on the last mission of "Sweets." By the way, you can go to IGN.com and find cheat codes to San Andreas.... It comes in handy when you don't feel like going around the city to find weapons; body armor and such.

i've been playing for a week now and i just go around recruiting members and trying to get money. only finished 7 missions cuz all the other stuff is too fun right now. haven't got around to BigFoot but soon enough. some questions..

A) do i have to finish a certain mission before i can venture out of Los Santos? the roads are blocked and if i swim across i immediately get 4 stars and get blown away by the cops...

B) is there any other way to get money besides killing gangsters/pedestrians, horse races, pimp and cab missions??

C) i can recruit 5 gang members at a time but a 4 door car only fits 3 of them.. is there a vehicle that fits all 6 of us?

1. there's a couple offtrack betting places in los santos.. one is around downtown/market area and the other is in the northern most part. you go in and place a bet on a horse then they show you a race between 5 horses. i won about 2G one time.

2. go up to the guys wearing your colors (green) and w/ a gun in hand, press R1 to target them then press UP on the D-Pad (not analog) and they will join you.

A) you have to finish alot of missions then you start working your way west on the map after some missions there you open up san fierro.

B) you can bet someone in a game of billiards at the bar down the street from the johnson house if it is open yet. (i'm not sure the bar is open all the time or after a certain number of missions)

c) i don't know

pick a weapon and work on it until you become a "Hitman" in your ability in it. I got the ak, the m-16, and all the handguns up to hitman level. I can blast through missions where you have to kill people and you can take over gang territory really quickly since you're hitting them with head shots.

alright, your hint for the day:
pick a weapon and work on it until you become a "Hitman" in your ability in it. I got the ak, the m-16, and all the handguns up to hitman level. I can blast through missions where you have to kill people and you can take over gang territory really quickly since you're hitting them with head shots.

A good way to work up your skill in a weapon is to get lots of ammo for the particular weapon. Then get near a save point. Jack a car, get out of it and shoot it until it explodes. keep shooting cars becuase you can shoot them a lot, therefore gaining skill, before they explode. Then after the cops start coming, shoot them too. Start an all out war and when the heat gets to hot, just step on your save icon or go in your safehouse and save. Then come back outside and repeat the process. The easiest place I found for this is a save house that looks like a large apartment building. There is a ledge that looks out over the street and is covered from the top from helicopters. I maxed out all of the weapons this way.

As for money. I heard someone talking about betting. I solved my money problems very early. There is a horse betting place under the freeway in Los Santos. I saved my game at the nearest save house and went to the horse betting place. I had about $30,000 and I bet on the second to last horse. In other words, not the horse that's least favored but the one right above him. I put all my money down and if he lost I reloaded my game from the save point and tried it again. It only took me about 3 tries and my $30 grand turned into 1.4 million. Now, I've collected about 40 horseshoes in los venturus with the jet pack. They increase your luck. Now whenever I walk into the horse betting place I bet on the second to last horse and he almost always wins. That's how I provided all the ammo to max out my guns and purchase safehouses.

There is also a point where a big truck comes tumbling over a bridge after you. Don't even waste your time with that thing cause you can't kill it. Sorry I wasn't much help.

i read that the cheats will mess it up if your trying to get 100 percents completion, with all the tags, side missions, oysters and what not, i'm on the last story line mission and i've cheated and everything seems to be ok.

I haven't played the game in a while but that's the last stage I finished. You have to sneak into this guy's house with a huge confederate flag on his wall and steal crates full of weapons. Very easy mission. I usually just go around recruiting members and get into drive bys and shoot-em ups, run from cops, gamble, etc. Bought 4 houses. The game's so fun that finishing the missions is my last resort.

OK, I got to play a little this weekend, and not I am up to 30 tags and 10 oysters. Plus I completed the breakin mission as well as the train robbery, but I am stuck on the one where you break in and steal weapons from the National Guard.

I had it beat, but I rolled the stupid truck on a turn and it blew up... ARGH!

Also, I own the ponies at the OTB site! I always bet the purple horse b/c the odds are around 9-11 to 1 and they win about 1 out every 4 or 5...

I also put in the cheat for the stunt plane (just didn't save), but it is hard to find room to take off in the city.... I kept blowing up and never got far off the ground.

No, it is the one where you get away on the motorcycle... I think. I haven't touched the game since January/February.

i'm stuck on the zero mission where you have to take the rc plane and blow up couriers also.. that lil' thing is hard to control sometimes.

i liked the part where you have to take over los santos section by section through gang wars.. but after i took everything over, a mission made everything back to normal and now i have ballas lurking everywhere including the johnson house.. don't get it.

don't worry about zeros missions, they are only needed if you want 100% completion of the game. you can beat the storyline mode without them.

Yeah, it took me quite a few times to beat it. The best thing you can do is try it a few times and come back later.

Thats exactly what I did. Wait a few days and it is much easier. Don't worry about the truck, there is no way to destroy it...just aim for the motorcycles and the windshields of the police cars.

Bought it for PC Friday...haven't showered or shaved all weekend, when people call me my responses consist of "yups; hmmm; of course", I've watched the movies Elf, Wag the Dog, some kidnapping movie with Kevin Spacey, Kill Bills 1 and 2 yet I don't remember a thing that happened in any of them (on in the background on one of the Starz channels because I haven't bothered to change the TV), and lastly, this is my first HR post of the weekend.

It's still early, but so far, I like Vice City better. This whole business of eating and going to the gym is too much like real life. I don't want to bother with that kind of nonsense. At least they don't make you have to go to the bathroom.

eating is a pain but once you get your guy all buff you don't have to go back too much. After my guy got as big as he could I might have gone back to the gym two or three times the rest of the time I played. One thing you can do if you want to hurry up and get him big is to go somwhere and save the game. after you come out of the save screen about 6 hours pass GTA time and since you can only go to the gym every 24 hours, saving frequently can cut the time down.

I have him all big and strong right now, but his stamina is still low. (Art imitating life there, I suppose.) It is good to hear that I don't have to keep going back that often to keep him ripped. Going to the gym is such a nuisance. (Again, art imitating life, I suppose.)

Any help out there for the mission "Freefall". It's the one where you have to fly the plane right behind the other plane that the assassins are flying on. Somehow you are supposed to catch up to the other plane from behind, despite the fact that the other plane is faster than the one you are flying. I must be missing something here.

It is one of the casino missions. In fact not being able to get through this one is keeping me from moving along. I think I've done all the other missions that I can do without this one.

Seems as if everyone else has the PS2 version and already either beat it or gave up. I just got to the gimp mission...I lost all respect for the GTA franchise after that one. I'm probably just one or two step behind you.

I thought the gimp mission was hilarious. When you go back later to date Millie again, just wear the gimp outfit. It will speed up the dating process and you'll get the key card sooner. You will only need to do 2 or 3 "dates" with her instead of many more.

I went into one of the .cfg files and increased the acceleration and top speed of the Dodo so that it actually could catch up to the other plane from behind. I sort of feel bad about that, but the mission was impossible and it was either that or quit playing the game completely.

The flight school things were tough, but this Freefall mission was just impossible. I don't want to think about how many times I tried and failed it. It was just annoying and frustrating.

You are in a Dodo and the plane you are chasing is called a Shamel or something like that. And there is no way for a Dodo to catch up from behind.

I completed the "Final" mission, finally. It was a major hassle, but I got through it. I still have to go back and do a bunch of other things though. I have a whole slew of side missions to take care of, and I need to locate all of the horseshoes. I think I'm only at about 70%, so there must be quite alot of stuff left undone.

That last mission was a pain in the butt because the fire made my computer super slow. That being said, it still only took me 2 tries. I thought for a final mission it was too easy and a little lame.

There are a couple of horseshoes that to say the least, are a pain in the ass to get even if you did cheat to find out where they are. It is supposedly an Easter Egg that is basically a porno within the game. RockStar denies they put it in, but apparently it is there for PC and XBOX.

Ive seen the screen shots. I beleive Hot Coffee is real, but hard to do. "Hot Coffee" before anyone asks, is a mod you can download and install onto GTA:SA and it shows you having sex with your girlfriends in the game.

My problem with the last mission was that you fight your way up and back down, which was not easy. The time I lost I died on the way back down through the fire. I caught Sweet on the first try so maybe I just got lucky. The driving part at the end of that mission was pretty fun, but the annoyance of fighting through that fire with a crappy frame rate ruined the mission for me.

Body armor and hearts too. I agree. The mission should have been a bit tougher, but that "all or nothing" luck element should have been changed, in my opinion.

100% completion baby!!! I will say I was a bit dissapointed in this installment of GTA. 99% of the missions were way too easy and the ones that were challenging weren't fun, just annoying--circle airstrip and land, ugh. Lots of nice new installments to the game that weren't made an active part of the gameplay. For example, it would have been nice to use the hydra for more than one mission or be able to use the custom shop cars in missions. Also, while being billed as a game that you take at your own pace, the missions were far too linear leaving no room for improvisation. Freight train delivery missions, please, what a waste of time. The race missions despite there being about 30 of them the only one that was challenging was the one in LA where you drive the Super GT and it would have been nice to be able to choose your vehicle for the race, but within some parameter i.e. if it's a bike race you can only use a bike, if its a sports car race you can only use a sports car.

lol, it definatly can be a stress reliever. Sometimes I will put in a code for the weapons set with the heat seeking rocket launcher, find a stratigic place on a roof top and let the carnage begin.

I've got a map that shoes me where all the weapons are laying around the place and go find them in las venturas, put the jetpack back on and fly away, then come back and get more and repeat the process until I'm stocked...

I don't get to play much any more because it soooo hard to find a good game. I'm thinking of trading it in to help me get civilization iv. I'm a civ nut (I love that game) and chaos theory is the least played game I have even though I love it. It's just rare these days I find a good game online.

It is my vow to never, ever use cheats in any GTA game. It really doesn't take that long. And nope, I haven't beat the game. I've got it towards the end. I think I'm one mission before the riots start. I just don't want the riots to start while cause I've always been doing other things. I got my all golds the on the motorcycle school to get the fastest bike, and I was trying for all golds in the driving school but it's been tough. I'm currently trying to fill the import cars list. I'm only on the second list though.

But even if I had beat the game, I'd stay away from the codes. Keep an arsenal of weapons and I save often so if I die or am arrested I just reload. Also, because of all the horse shoes I've collected, I make a killing at the casinos (gambling skill full) so I have all the safe houses and stuff.

I finished all the missions and I have done most of the side-missions. I'm still not at 100%. But I stopped playing a while ago. It got kind of tedious to try and get some of the little stuff done that is required for 100%. I suspect I'll get back to it at some point soon.

This was my beef with San Andreas...too much time devoted to boring, tedious missions and too few fun ones. If you took the content from either Vice City or III and stuck it in San Andreas's atmosphere it would have been a perfect game.

I decided a while ago that Vice City was a better game. I thought the missions were better, the side missions were not as tedious, and the overall story-line was more interesting.
