Spurrier may indeed be Akhhorus.
You didn't hear that from me,but is it just a coincidence that they both left town?Do you know what Akhh looks like? He's a history buff and Spurrier reads the Art Of War.There are too many similarities not to pay attention to.The great mystery may be solved.

Sorry to get off track there, I wonder if this has turned in to an ACC-SEC thing. I still hear rumblings about him having the North Carolina job if he wants it. Is Bunting secure? Is he in his last year there and is the AD happy enough with the Miami win to extend his contract, or does UNC have Spurrier in mind...

If you think Redskin fans are 50/50 about Brunell, you should see the fights going on over at UNC MBs between the pro-Spurriers and anti-Spurriers....lol
I personally don't think Bunting saved his job. The only winning season we have had with him is the team that he took over from Torbush...who took over from Mack Brown. So in reality, Bunting took over Browns players. Somehow, he has still been able to recruit top 20 classes. Which isn't bad for UNC. But our fans are getting tired of top 20 classes. We have the facilities to do much better. The other problem is that AD Dick BADdour is strong supporter of Bunting. There have been some rumblings that BADdour could be removed and put in another FO job after this year. Which could open the door for someone else.
The pro-Spurrier group believes pretty hard that BADdour doesn't want the football team to really succeed. They think he wants UNC to stay a basketball school for whatever reason. I don't buy into that but I am a pro-Spurrier supporter....
So I'm sure there will be a lot of speculation until Spurrier himself accepts a job. Only then will this all die. This is the first time that I had heard about Clemson even be looking for a coach at the end of the season....

I would surprised if Clemson fires Bowden. Beating Miami might have saved his job. He's 5-4 now. They would only fire him if they KNEW they would get Spurrier or another big name to replace him, but they wouldnt fire him to take chances.

Bowden bought himself another year by beating Miami and NC State. It would be very surprising to see Pickens A&M go after him.

how bout this.....spurrier at miami? they barely beat FSU and louisville, and then lost to UNC and clemson. larry coker has to be feeling a little heat, especially with how berlin is playing.
there's always talk about the tommies(tuberville and bowden) being fired. sure clemson is on a 4 game win streak, but they are 5-4 after that.

Ryan, Coker is still one of the most successful coaches in football(with a national title and has only lost five games ever), Tuberville has Auburn #3 in the Nation, possibly going for a National Title(arent they glad they kept him). Bowden might get fired, but since he's beaten Miami and NC state(and his destroying of South Carolina last year) he's probably saved his job unless Pickens A&M knows they could get Spurrier. Which there are no guarentees. If Bowden beats South Carolina again, there is no way he gets fired. And if South Carolina loses their next two(At Florida and At Pickens A&M) combined with a low level bowl, Holtz is gone and Spurrier will replace him.

Spurrier has been seen down here in Chucktown and in Columbia. McGee, the AD isnt saying anything this week because it's Clemson week. If they get embarrassed on Saturday like they did last year, Holtz will be gone about an hour after the game. Everyone is saying that Bowden saved his job with the Miami win and will definitly save his job if he beats USC and also Holtz isnt making his recruiting calls like he does at this time of the year. I give him about a 75% chance of leaving and Spurrier would be a 65% chance of replacing him.

Skip ran the offense like he was playing madden(always in the Shotgun--ran four different plays). Awful offense that has wasted 6 years of unbelievable defense. He has 3 very good RBs now and he never made them to focus of the offense. Also they have nothing but running Qbs, but they dont run them, sit them back in the pocket. They have a great Wideout, but dont focus him in the passing game either.

Summers, if they would run him like the Skins run Portis, would be an All-American. He shreds everyone in the first two drives, but then gets pulled. Daccus Turman was the starter last year as a true Freshman, but he's riding the pine for some reason: he can play. So Holtz puts in Gonzi Gray, who is good, but nothing special. It's like the Qbs for the Cocks this year, Pinkens can run the offense better, but Holtz always pulls him for a half for Newton(who can run better and throw a deep ball well, but can't run the offense), which makes zero sense.
Keep your eye on Ko Simpson, the starting FS for the Cocks as a true freshman, he has 6 ints and fumbles recoveries this year. Two run back for TDs. Looks like Sean Taylor.
