Another punt inside the 10 for Tupa. Gibbs will definitely come out with some power running on the next possession. I think he hoped to catch the Bengals off guard early. Unfortunately the WRs don't seem to be getting the separation that Brunell needs to complete a pass. He is just not confident enough to thread the needle right now.

Terrible throw by Brunell. Lucky the first guy didnt catch it and return it for a TD. He tipped it up and Cincy intercepted it. We just lost the field position initiative with one bad pass. To Brunell's credit, the WRs haven't had any separation all game. It seems that Gibbs may have removed his "throw it away if nothings there" mentality, because Brunell has forced a couple already (including that int into double coverage).

They are trying to get some people out of the box so Portis can run. The Bengals are not scared of Brunell yet.

There is nothing to be scared of when you don't throw the ball over 20 yards. Everything is in front of the defenders. That's the reason the coverages are always so tight and the WR's have no separation. They sit on everything underneath, knowing they have time to recover on any deep attempts due to Brunell's arm strength.

Understood. I tried to make sense of the "game" and the only game Joe is seeming to enjoy is the game in our hearts and minds.
