LOL....Its hard to say bro. I hate to call fans "fair weather fans" since I don't know them personally. But i'm sure they are out there.

I'm like you. I've been a fan since the league began. Heck, I like all DC teams except the Wizards. And thats mainly due to the fact that I don't follow the NBA....

I've been a diehard fan since '96!! I have attended all home games this year and will do so again next year. We had 300+ people at Bailey's in Ballston today to root on D.C. to it's 4th Championship. I love the 'Skins, but I also love DCU. The problem is that DCU just doesn't get the recognition the team deserves. Anyway, it's awesome to have another Championship in D.C. again!!!!

what really sucks is the minimum salary is 24k, i think it just got upped to 28 but football is like 1000000 million times that amount

DC United definitely made this day enjoyable. i kept flipping the channels from the Skins' game to the United game whenever i could. Eskandarian had 2 nice goals although the 2nd one was a questionable non-handball call. but the United deserved to win their 4th Championship in 9 years.. they were the best team down the stretch. and that heart-pounding Eastern Conf. Finals game vs. NE was one of the best MLS games in history. Congrats to Peter Nowak and his team!.. and to DC for some hope in sports!

I'm not a fair-weather fan. There is/has not been a fair weather skins fan in over a decade. I was at the skins game though, but taped the cup.

Great job DC United. I'm am by NO means a soccer fan, but it's good to see those guys win it.

i'd only consider myself a half fair weather fan. im a big soccer fan, but i never got around to watching any of the games this year. i basically missed the MLS cup game, but i got home at 5:30 and when i switched to channel 7(from the skins game), it was 5 minutes into extra time with DC leading 3-2. nice to watch like 15 seconds of them before they won.

I never watched soccer, but I'm happy for DC - at least one team knows how to win. Maybe this'll change our misfortunes.

And Smoot, I think United can use all the fans it can get and there's no use in trying to call other fans fairweather.

We went to both Playoff games and we watched the end of the game yesterday...(what? the Redskins were giving me gray hairs anyway)

...I must say, I had a blast at the games...we will probably buy season tickets next year.
