Santa Clara 77 UNC 66....Oh well, atleast we loss on the road and against a team that had already played 3 games.

Hey, I have to blame it on something....:D

Oh yeah, it was early in the season so thats good....And it was against Santa Clara, who upsets one powerhouse a year. I'm sure Arizona and other big time schools out west are happy that it came against UNC and not them....Any other excuses? Oh yeah, my bad.....we didn't have our true point guard, Raymond Felton. He had to sit out a one game suspension due to playing in a unsanctioned game this year in Raliegh...yes....Raliegh. HMMM, sounds fishy to me.....

All in good fun of course. Congrats to any Santa Clara fans, or UNC haters out there. We'll be back....;)

You know I was thinking about you last night when I saw that score.

Darn Kenny, that was a quick reply....:D

Yeah, we couldn't hit anything. And I saw atleast 2 baskets SC made that they shouldn't have. Amazing shots. Our guys missed a lot of close range shots.

Seems like we may have read too many preseason mags. You still have to show up and play.

:D

Yeah, unfortunately, they do.....I'll be looking on to see how we play with Felton back running the point.

They have a good team. some other top teams have had hard times so far. Kansas beat Vermont by a score of 68-61. Stanford needed overtime to beat San Francisco.

Heck, Richmond beat Seton Hall....

Looks like we've got a salary cap and parity has come to the NCAA?

Ummmm Mike - they were projected to place 3rd in their conference. As I so nicely pointed out in the other thread (in a round about way) - you can thank SI for that one. ............ OBTW - the Terps had no problem last night ;)

Ohh - those are fighting words LOL ... yeah, I was shocked to see that score pass by on ESPN News. Weren't they suppose to contend for the NCAA title?

BTW - Go Terps!

Please Patrick! You played Jackson State. At home.

We were practically in Santa Claras back yard....

:D We'll bounce back. And BTW, SI had nothing to do with it. Our shot was last night. It happens.

Lets not forget, last year Kansas started 0-2 and went to the final 4...

I didn't catch the UNC game, but was shocked at the score...I don't like to see an ACC team lose an out of conference game, period. It makes the whole argument of which is the best conference harder to validate. I think it is obvious that Felton is the glue that keeps this team together. I feel for the next team on the Heels' schedule...

i was shocked to see UNC go down so early as well. you know they are going to be upset again, by a team like clemson. ;)

btw, kansas only beat for vermont by 7. tis the season for an upset, fa la la la la, la la la la......:D

yeah, the ACC cant consider themselves the best if they dont win the outer conference games. a bad lose for the tar heels, but 1 lose doesnt take them out of title contention like it does in college football.

I wanted to come back and read this thread again to see what people were saying after the SC loss...

Now I'd also like to point out that the SI cover jinx does not apply to preseason issues. They picked the Red Sox last season and the Tar Heels so SI must do a decent job at picking a true champion...

We picked up the issue with May on the cover yesterday!!!

Man, I remember watching this game at a bar and saying to myself it was going to be a long year of the Heels, man was I off. This happened the same night as the Pacers PIstons fiasco right?

CarMike

hmmm, could have. I know the Pacers/Pistons fight happened on a Friday...because I know the South Carolina/Clemson football fight happend the next day....

yeah I think it was, cause I was at a bar watching UNC lose and said "Wow, I don't think anything will be able to top some nobody Cali school beating UNC tonight" Once again, I was sadly mistaken. I think that was the theme of the night really. The USC Clemson game was funny, cause it wasn't televised, but for some reason yahoo carried over the net so I got to watch it that way. I was out doing yard work and come in sparingly to watch the game cause it sucked (USC was losing), I just by chance walked in and three seconds later a brawl broke out. Man, what a wild weekend.

No way, a championship erases any frustration or pain you've had since the last one. If the Skins won a championship and people were still whining about Norve, Spurrier, Danny, WR who shall not be named, Deion, Bruce, etc..... Well sir thos people should just be smacked back to reality.
