View Full Version : The "Nationals" name
Luckily, no one has taken major issue w/the name, like the controversy that erupted when the Bullets were renamed the Wizards. I think that if it couldn't be Senators, Nationals was the next best thing. I think it sounds fine, espcially since they'll be playing in the National league-and we can still nickname em the 'Nat's'...Any other opinions?

I could have gone Nationals, Senators, or Greys. Heck, I am just happy as heck we have a franchise

I love the nickname, especially since it's my initials.

I like the Nationals just fine as well. As long as they didn't go with a "minor league" sounding name....

I think there is a federal law prohibiting the use of "heck" twice in the same sentence.

Speaking of minor leagues, I actually thought it wouldn't be bad if they just handed the Potomac team a little money and became the Washingtomn Cannons.

Nationals are a good name but would have been happy with any of the three.
BUT my first choice was the DC Cabs ;)

Would have preferred the (Greys,Grays) or however it was spelled...but Nationals works.

I was hoping for Grays, but why should I expect MLB to give any special honor to those they excluded for 1/2 a century........

Nationals is cool w/ me...but I was hoping on the "Federals"....so we could call them the Fed's for short...but oh well...at least we have a team!

That would be the Washington Crack Pipes
Somehow I did not think that name would pass the first round of cuts
Just call it a hunch...
