Not only is the Ginat defense 25th ranked, but the defensive line is ravaged by injuries, much like our entire defense. This could be huge for Portis. This is a typical game that Portis shoudl have no less than 30 carries.

Three days after end Chuck Wiley was lost for the year with a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament, more expected bad news surfaced yesterday when tackle Norman Hand missed practice with a strained groin and end Lorenzo Bromell said his season is over because of a knee injury.

Without Hand, Robbins will move back to the right tackle spot and will face Dockery again. William Joseph will make his second start at left tackle. Lance Legree will start at one of the end positions, but might also play inside.

I'm guessing 32 carries, 175 yards and 2 rushing TDs....

Gibbs is truly going to run him until "his tounge hangs out".

One of the things an article mentioned that coudl be key as well, some of Portis success in Denver came from linign up further back in the backfield, allowing him to see the holes open and burst through them, where here, Portis is lined up closer to the Line and is told to hit the hole that is pre-planned, whether it opens or not. Move him back and let him do his thing.

Well, we all know his 64 yard scamper versus the Bucs was through an "un-planned hole". I'd love to see him line up further back and either hit the planned hole, or the one that develops.

He has such great field vision, I trust his judgement more than anyones.

That was one of the things in that article I disagreed with. Having watched this offense in person this year and back in the glory days, Ive noticed the RB is already lined up like 10-12 yards back from the line of scrimmage. How much farther does he need to be?

Portis would love to get 1500 yards this season. I think we need to give him plenty of opportunities to achieve that. He is the only playmaker that we have right now. Let him make plays.

I know we should run him like crazy, I just hope we actually do. We had a matchup aganist the Bengals defense and didn't stick to the run, I"m not sure if we'll do it this week or not.

I agree, joe needs to pound the ball with Clinton and betts this week, as our passing game will not carry this team anywhere

The Gints D is pretty banged up and I agree we should run Portis all day ... but when was the last time we did what we were suppose to do?

Assuming Portis doesn't put it on the ground like he did last game, he should have real good numbers.

Portis will be fine Sunday....

The Giants will blitz coming off the bus so Ramsey better be ready to go downfield or have hot routes or screens to take advantage.

well when your down 17-0 early, your not really in the position to pound the ball. but facing a rookie qb and a bad oline, the giants wont get off to a quick start like the bengals did. we just need to not turn the ball over so their offense doesnt have a short field to work with like they did last game.

Portis is not lining up 10-12 yards behind the line of scrimmage. More like 6-7 yards.
