Scotland County quarterback chooses Tar Heels over FSU, VT, NCSU, USC, Clemson.
Not this time OBC! I'll admit, I was worried. But in the end UNC landed the QB we wanted the most. Coach Bunting was able to close the deal after both, Spurrier and Bobby Bowden, had in-house visits the past two nights.
Great job staff of UNC!
UNC also has a commitment from another QB named Cade Thompson. He was recently selected as the state of Tennessees player of the year. His winning record as a starter for Maryville High was 43-1. His team just beat the #1 team in the state 48-0 last friday....
What once has looked like a weakness next year, looks to be a strength.

Spurrier will probably pull some kid out of a Dairy Queen and turn him into a Heisman finalist.

Wouldn't his arm be too strong, coming from a DQ?

I ran into this on SI.com looks like Spurrier is looking somehwere else
Florida backup QB Justin Midgett, who had the misfortune of coming to Gainesville the same year as Chris Leak, has asked for and received his release to transfer. He is looking to join another ex-Gator, Steve Spurrier, at South Carolina. ... Spurrier's hiring has caught the attention of several potential quarterbacks. Former Parade All-American Ben Olson, who has re-opened his recruitment following a two-year Mormon mission and is unlikely to return to BYU, has added the Gamecocks to his list, while South Carolina coaches have reportedly made contact with Nebraska commit Harrison Beck.

That sounds more accurate.

Florida backup QB Justin Midgett,
Is that really his name?
I suppose he is something like 6'4" or 6'5"?

I've heard just about all of these rumors. It tells you what Spurrier thought about Cameron Sexton. He really wanted him above everyone else.
There's no doubt that he'll get his QB of choice. Even with Sexton, it could have been different if he had recruited him longer.
