Hey fellow Washingtonians and Skins fans. Great article this week about former Redskins backup QB Babe Laufenberg in one of my favorite reads, the Washington CityPaper. I especially enjoyed this quote: "Second-string running backs, receivers and linemen are irrelevant around here. But Skins fans have always had a love affair with their backup QB's." If you want to check out the article online, i tried to link it, but it was a secure page. But visit washingtoncitypaper.com and do a search of this week's articles, and look for the section named "Cheap Seats". The name of the article is "The Greatest Quarterback to Never Play the Game." Check it out-it's a fun read...

There is no greater Babe fan on this forum then old AGG...ok so there probably is no other Babe fan on the forum...

BRING BACK THE BABE!!!!

“We had a game against New England, beat them in overtime or on the last play, and I had a good game and led us from behind to get the win,” he says. “And at the end of the game, all these people inside RFK are chanting my name, so I walk right over to Joe Gibbs and say, ‘Go ahead and cut me now!’ And that’s exactly what he did. I don’t know what got into me. With everybody yelling, I should have said, ‘Joe, why don’t you keep me?’”

This cracked me up

Babe actually had two stints in Washington. First time around he was #3, behind Theismann and Holly. Then he went to San Diego. When he came back, he actually got into a game due to injuries, I think. He was wearing number 16 in his second tour. First tour he was number 12. Holly wore number 8.

Even more obscure, Holly went to Atlanta after playing in DC.
