LANDOVER, Md. (Dec. 1, 2004) -- Eli Manning had a tough time against two of the NFL's most ferocious blitzing defenses in his first two starts.
The Giants can only hope that a matchup with the struggling Washington Redskins will allow the rookie quarterback to stay on his feet long enough to help New York end a four-game losing streak.
***** I'm sorry but I was under the impression that our defense was 2nd best in the nfl....and also that we sacked big ben at least 4 or 5 times.*****
"They played tough but we've got to come up with some big plays; we haven't done that all season," Washington running back Chris Cooley said. "Pittsburgh made four or five big plays against us and we didn't have one."
*****Last time i checked Chris Cooley was a TE...and even if you consider him a H-back thats still a Fullback/TE not a Runningback*****
Patrick Ramsey, who replaced struggling veteran Mark Brunell in the second quarter of the 17-10 loss to the Bengals on Nov. 14, was 19-for-34 for 138 yards, a TD and an interception Nov. 28. The change, however, apparently has only made things worse.
Washington's offense, which hasn't scored more than 18 points all season, has managed only 13 points in the two games since.
***** Ramsey may not be perfect...or even very good but he at least throws for over 100 yards a game and at the very least he completes half of his passes...something brunell couldnt do*****
I wish these so called "Professional" would at least do some research or pay attention before posting stupid ----.

Yep. Another guy writing an article about something he has no idea about. He thought the Philly defense was rough? Wait 'till they get a load of us.

I'm still steaming about the fools broadcasting our games.
These articles don't really bother me to much because they have schmucks write them; some guy who doesn't watch any of the Redskins games, etc.
However, when we get jack-@$$e$ like Maas annoucning our games, practically drooling over Bettis whenever he runs for 1 yard, or when Roethelisberger throws a screen pass, that's what gets me mad.
Our defense completely contained the "Brilliant" Pittsburgh offense, and even held the "Second coming of Christ" Eagles in check for 3 quarters.
New York doesn't rank nearly as well, doesn't have nearly the amount of talent, and it will show, and these fools will look real stupid come Sunday
Whether we win or not is to be seen, but I guarantee we won't get points more then 16 points put up on us.

this pregame must be like from a new york magazine lol...
I know the skins arent the most beautiful team to watch.....but when the opponent has Eli starting, only good can happen for us. Eli is putting up Brunell numbers

Until we can come close to putting together a winning record, interns will continue to write the articles about us. This is just another drop of water in the ocean of frustrating press but what can we do if we don't win?

This means that the Giants hope that they can protect Eli Manning enough in order to make plays. Its actually a compliment to our defense that we are going to put pressure on him and attack him. Its not a knock on our pressure more that they need to keep him standing long enough to make plays, meaning that he'll be likely getting hit alot.

The fact is the offense has been NO better since Brunell left. The passing game has improved and the running game has gone down the toilet. So to say the offense hasn't improved any is being honest. Ramsey may be completing more passes and throwing more yardage but he is also throwing more then Brunell did.
I have no problem blasting a writer for when he's wrong but other then the Cooley statement calling him a running back the guy is on target with the 2 statements he made. You guys can rip him all you want but sometimes the truth hurts.

:goodpost: I hate listening to Maas - it seems he's anti-Skins. He needs to move to the west coast and do their games. He sucks arse.

of coruse the offense hasnt been better, we've faced a steadily improving philly defense and the #1 defense in the league(which we scored more points on than a certain 10-1 team). once we face a softer defense, then we can evaluate if ramsey is better than brunell. brunell blew it vs average defenses.

ShaggySkins is correct. The article does not seem unreasonable to me.
Let's keep the profanity OUT of this forum and this entire website. Thanks.

I hate bill maas and brian baldinger. both of them are the same, but maas gets on my nerves too. not just cuz he talks smack about the skins, but has anyone else noticed that whenever the camera focuses on him and when his partner talks he always has that fake corny laugh? Like the guy will be like, "we welcome you all as the redskins face the giants," and bill maas will be next to him with a cheesy smile and nodding his head as if he is saying "Hey, Thats true!" I dont know, i just notice the little things in life. hahahah

Breaking news from the front.....The Redskins are a bad football team.
If you are expecting the media to write glowing things about the Skins then you should ask your doctor to lower your daily crack intake.
Some of the sane indivuals here may have to pull one of those mass interventions....
