Major League Baseball's owners voted today to approve the relocation of its Montreal franchise to Washington for the 2005 season despite a lone objection from Baltimore Orioles owner Peter Angelos.

I think it's crap that he got compenation at all. We didn't get anything when the Ravens came to town.

Good deal for getting the team
Hopefully DC can cut a good deal for the stadium that allows them to build something nice and have at least 3 bucks left over to fix the public schools.
If not....give it to northern VA and let the traffic nightmares begin...

I'd prefer NOVA, but DC is fine with me. Anyone know what the chances are that they will get a tv deal this year, like how comcast/upn show the majority of orioles games.

Actually Angelos doesn't have a compensation deal in place yet which is why he voted against it, besides being an overall annoying human being.
I don't see why he should be compensated for having to compete by actually putting a quality product on the field. The only thing good about Camden Yards is the actual ballpark. I can't wait to watch a game at RFK.
