Desperation Time Sunday at FedEx Field

LANDOVER, Md. - Joe Gibbs needed just seven words to preview Sunday's game between the New York Giants and his Washington Redskins.
The Giants are desperate," the coach said, "like we are."

"We need a win right now," Ramsey said. "We need to get things going before the season ends, so that we'll have something to build on. This is certainly a game where hopefully we can get that started."

Despite their similar straits, the teams have vastly different motivations for winning. While the Redskins are already thinking about next year, the Giants amazingly remain in the hunt for a wild-card berth in the weak NFC.
"Not saying that the league is watered down, but there are teams in that bracket who have lost games and that just creates more chances for us," cornerback Will Peterson said. "The playoffs are out there to be had. Everyone knows the situation around the league. If we don't get a win this Sunday and continue on down the chute we've been on the last four games, then who's going to be talking playoffs around here? Nobody! So we have to get a win Sunday."

I would love to play spoiler against a division foe like this, but more than that I crave to see improvement from our offense and Ramsey so that we can have a legit reason for hope.

I agree. Our team isn't going to get any better if we don't improve our record in our division. We'll never make it to the playoffs if we keep losing to the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles, they'll make it before us.

Not that it is likely to happen but....if we actually go 8-8 we could slip our way into the wildcard spot! Imagine that, we'd be on a 5 game win streak and would have beaten Philly and the Vikings, I'd feel bad for whoever we faced in the wildcard game! Now back to reality....

The Giants are not going to make the playoffs....

They will be watching TV just like us

The Redskins just need to finish this season with some sort of feel good factor and rebuild for next year.The O needs some serious looking at and Gibbs needs to get in there and change some personnell to do the job on the field.I think we entered this season on a wave of optimism because of the Gibbs factor and thats why this season hurts so much.The Redskins will be a force again,sooner rather than later.

To all the Fans headed to FedEx . . . make it crazy!!!! Don't let up on those "Big Blue" bums !!!! This is one game that I really feel we make a break out. Yeah, I know they aren't a powerhouse and have a rookie QB making his 3rd start - don't care ! Our Beloved Team needs this game for a lot of reasons!!!! Scream, holler, stomp your feet, invoke the Spirit of RFK . . .
And every play that Our Beloved Team makes - cheer and scream and let the "Gints" know that they are in OUR HOUSE!!!!!!
