I'm not cruel enough to bring back all those posts about how Hokie fans are on crack and that we're gonna be terrible. How bout the ACC champs now baby?!

Yes I recall a UVA fan saying that we wouldn't beat another ranked team this year after beating WVU. What you think now?

No we don't have the stars, but we have a team that wouldn't give up and refused to lose.

ACC champs son.

Great season for tech. now if only they had a team other than football with a record above .500. Just kidding. sort of.

Congrats to the Hokies from a Terp fan...Quite a first impression for Beamer and Co. Hopefully Maryland can provide more of a test next year :banghead:
Good Job Hokies!

wow. what a game. seriously, the media is eating some HUGE crow right now. we lost so many starters, only to overcome everything and win the ACC!!!
So guys, who are we playing in the sugar bowl???

please, dear GOD not auburn. we would get killed.
Oklahoma we can take
USC..it would be close and we want revenge from last year so who knows.
Texas...we match up well with them and this would be close.

Congrats from a Tar Heel fan. I still can't believe you guys were ranked to finish 6th or 7th in the ACC. That amazes me.

Congrats and welcome to the ACC. Now its basketball time baby!

Yeah...I was that UVA fan.

I really gotta give credit to Beamer for getting his team prepared for victory at Miami. That is a tough place to play, and I didn't think the Hokies could pull it off.

The bowl game against Auburn will be tough. Auburn feels slighted, so they have a lot to prove...

This will really be a good game. it'll definately show if the SEC is the most overrated conference in college football.

I credit you for coming back and admitting you were wrong, some would just dissapear.

One thing many people seem to overlook is the fact that Miami did not dominate VT every year even though they did win the Big East a lot, it was more of a matter of VT getting upset by WVU or Pitt than Miami just crushing everyone. VT has won 7 out of the last 10 against Miami, we are one of the few teams in CFB who aren't scared of their past or their swagger. Under Beamer VT is 7-7 against Miami and when you consider the fact that we sucked for the first five or so years while he built up the program Miami doesn't scare Virginia Tech.

As for the Sugar Bowl it will be a great game in my opinion. I am sure Auburn will come fired up and ready to show the world they deserved a shot at the MNC.

VT's defense has struggled at times against elite running backs like TA Mclendon, PJ Daniels, and Reggie Bush. Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams are probably the best running backs we have faced all season and arm tackles will not work.

Jason Campbell is probably the best QB we have faced since playing Leinart at the beggining of the year, and Auburn along with USC is one of only two teams who have a better scoring defense.

I think that Auburn is the best team we will have played all year and Auburn should be playing Oklahoma for the title. It will be a hardfought game, probably not a blowout, but Auburn is so balanced it will be hard for us to win, and not many people will choose us. But that is how we like it, Virginia Tech always has been an underdog, and plays best when there is nothing to lose.

The Hokies definately have a chance, because as we proved this year, you don't need big names to win big games. A well coached team that plays as a TEAM can win, and thats the way it should be. Virginia Tech is a better team this year because of the lost first rounders, not in spite of them.

I think Carmike is on point, if the SEC is as good as advertised then Auburn will probably roll to a victory. However, if it is as I suspect and the ACC is the strongest conference from top to bottom and I think that Miami, FSU, or UVA would win the championship in the Big East or Big 10. Should be a great game.

You root for VT football and MD basketball? Is that possible? :)

You gotta find someone to root for that is competitive. ;) I'll always root for VT B-ball above others, but when it comes to the NCAA tournament, it's hard to not root for anyone just because your team isn't playing. If you love the sport you're naturally drawn to different teams if your own isn't in the mix.

Maryland seems a logical choice for several reasons. 1) In conference (Go ACC!) 2) No animosity between Tech & Terp fans that I'm aware of 3) They are not UVA (or Florida State) :)
