Before this game i had a tradition that dated back to when i was 10. So since 1990 i had never worn a Redskins jersey on game day. I actually waited until right before kickoff before putting anything on to show my redskins spirit. After much debate and 14+ years i have decided to change my tradition. I went out and bought me a brand new Portis jersey and am actually currently wearing it at work. It feels extremely strange but quite refreshing to try something new on this day. Im hoping with me breaking my tradition that it will somehow bring good luck to the Skins on this glorious football day.
Has anyone else broken their tradition to try and give the Skins some MUCH need luck??

I can't count all the things that I've quit doing or doing different. I quit wearing my Portis jersey after the Browns game. Then wore it again for the past two weeks. So, i'm not wearing it today....which I won't be able to watch this game due to a sick family member.....

I wore LaVar Arrington's Jersey and he was injured and it became even worse, as the season went on.
We lost 4 in a row.
3 yeats ago I wore Stephen Davis' Jersey, he got hurt and was pretty ineffective the remainder of the year, and Steve Spurrier came to town, without Davis in his plans, saw the ball less, and signed with Carolina, last season.
That's two numbers in a row.
I haven't even given it thought though, because I put it back on (LaVar's jersey, when we played Chicago and Pittsburgh, oh and Philly). The results speak for themselves. Skins represented well on, on D, at least and all three games they were in it. The score doesn't tell you how the Philly game was played. So the supoosedly cure of the jersey is BROKEN! :)
I am 5-5 when I say I like the Skins chances. I am miserable at picking scores.
I am Redskins fan with confidence till' the day I die and the afterlife!

I have been through so many superstitions with shirts, jerseys, etc. I've even changed at half time to try to reverse things. Today I'm wearing my lucky sweatshirt, the Skins have never lost when I wear this one but I only break it out occasionally.

IT WORKED!!!! I went to NFL.COM and clicked on the Giants website. I then selected the NFL shop and clicked on Tiki Barber's jersey, then the GIANTS sweatshirt. I didn't start posting back here until the game was over!
YES.
Who we have next, so I can click on theirs too :)
Hail Redskins!

Every Sunday (depending on the time of the game) I have a game time lunch/dinner.
1pm games I always have Chinese food
4pm games I always have steak and red wine
No broken traditions except for going to Iraq/Afghanistan last year
Hard to find steaks over there for some reason.....
Todays menu featured Prime Rib with a bottle of (90) Merlot...
Perfection in a bottle....

I returned home a little earlier than I expected too. Guess what the first play I saw? Thats right.....the damn kick return. I just about turned the game off figuring that I was the jinx. :D lol
What a great game today. Can't wait to see some highlights from the first half.

Better crank up that mower for Philly, Patrick,
Jimreaper, got that Merlot and steak,
I'd have Pinot Grigio, a grapy enigma, for the Santa Magharetta area of Northern Italy. Beringer's not bad, but the Magharetta in 1998 or 1999 was tops! Think I will check that Merlot out on some beef teriyaki and veggies, with a red cranberry pie.
Then I will click on the Eagles on game day, stay away from posting until the game is over.
Hail to the Redskins!

Maybe you shouldn't watch the game next week..... ;)
I wore my "accessories" that I am going to wear to next weeks game. My roommate and I also decoreated our Christmas tree as well as put up different christmas decorations around our room. Oh boy... I can NOT wait or next week. Bring on the Bird! I'm ready!!!

The Reaper does share so anytime you're in the neighborhood just gimme advance notice so I can throw extra steaks on the grill and grab a couple of bottles of wine....
I am a wine fanatic (spent a lot of time in France) so I probably have something everyone would like...

It's bad karma to wish for injuries ...
Before today, I'd say the Eagles would've smacked around the redskins w/o TO but I don't know now. Your team looked great on both sides of the ball.

In 1994 when we went on that first slide with Norv,.... The game we ended the losing streak, I missed the kick off and I had for got to put on my Skins hat because I was running late. From that game on I would refuse to watch the kick off or wear any Skins colors on gameday and we started winning (Back Then....). Last year I came to the 1st hR Tailgate with a red shirt on.
I finally broke my tradition when Gibbs came back. I attended the 1st game and the 2nd Tailgate in my redskins coaches shirt. I watched the kick off and we won.
Hasn't faired to well lately though. However,...... I was busy with my son at game time, I missed the kick off,.... and I wasn't wearing any team colors....
The ritual has returned!!!!!!!
