Hopefully this is where being a new franchis ein a new city can lure some pitching here. Besides Livian Hernandez, this tsaff struggled for consistency. I think over the next two years, Bowden and Robinson will work to sure up the starting pitching. Tony Armas Jr was a disappointmemnt. It would be nice to see him turn into the pitcher he can be.
Don't expect much out of the Nats this year though unless they build the starting rotation all this year.

Definately need some pitching help for the Nationals.
I can't wait till we can have something to talk about full time when it comes to the Nationals. Finaly something that will help us get thru offseason for the Redskins.

We don't need an ace right now. We just need maybe a couple of pitchers who can keep their era at a respectable level (mid 4's), and keep us in position to win some games. Next year is when we will have the resources to get an ace. As for the coming year, livan hernandez will have to be our ace.

suppity, thats wat be basically have, we have 3 pitchers (hernandez, ohka and day) who have ERAs below 4, i dont think our pitchers are that bad, just def not good enough to compete for da playoffs

Huh?
Livan Hernandez is the only starter on the staff who had an ERA below 4.00. Hernandez is the only pticher for the Expos last season that could consistently get past inning 5. Before throwing Okha in, he only pitched 82 innings. The pitching staff is not good, they are not solid behind Hernandez and fortunately Bowden knwos that. Do I expect it to be fixed this year? Hell no. It will take awhile, but signing a decent starter to go along with Hernandez would be a great step.
Defensively, they were actually pretty decent. They were ranked 14th out of 30 temas in fielding. They were 11th out of 30 in errors committed, meaning, they have a pretty tough defense. Heck, they ranked second in MLB in double plays. I don't knwo where you get that they are weak on defense.

ohka and day both had ERAs under 4 but failed to stay healthy, all im saying is there is some potential in these 2 guys, specifically day, i think day can develop into a 15 game winner
