I would love to see Adrian Peterson or Alex Smith win the Heisman this year. But I don't think it will happen.
I look for Matt Leinart to win it all. Jason White has the #s but he won it last year. Peterson may be the very best player in the nation. But he's only a true freshman, so I doubt he'll win it, even though he should.
Reggie Bush is a play maker and can play plenty of positions. Great RB. Great WR. And a great ST player.
Alex Smith could be the 2nd best QB in the country but no one gets to see him a lot since he plays in Utah. Very dangerous QB and Runner. Will make a great threat in the NFL.
Jason White will be lucky if he gets drafted next year. Reminds me a lot of ex UM QB Dorsey. Great college career but scouts don't believe he'll make it in the NFL.
Just my .02 cents....

Jason White will win it, but he doesnt deserve to. My vote would go to leinart or smith.

Good question and it's going to be VERY close. It's just too bad they don't let the bowl games play out before voting this year. One more game performace could make a difference.

I'd like Peterson to get it. The award is for the best player, not the best non-freshmen. I'd be sad if White got it. Mike, good point about White/Dorsey.

peterson... but that is mostly a guess b/c i don't follow college closely. i've seen USC and there offense is great, but if you are talking MVP... i go with the freshman.

I'm picking Peterson. He's been the best player in college football by far. Hopefully he'll get rewarded. I just hope the Eagles, Cowboys, or Giants land him in the draft.

This is what i dont get.
Adrian petterson: Oklahoma
Games =12, Rushes = 314, Yards = 1843, YPC = 5.9, YPG = 153.6, TDs = 15
J.J. Arrington: California
Games =11, Rushes = 264, Yards = 1845, YPC = 7.0, YPG = 167.7, TDs = 14
JJ has better stats than Petterson, yet there has never been any mention of him during the heisman debate. But since JJ wasnt on TV as much as Adrian, he gets no respect.

Matt Lineart will win it, Adrian Petterson should win it. Lineart has gotten the press since last season he's also had a lot of prime time games. Petterson has stepped up aganist the best teams in the Nation when Oklahoma has REALLY needed it. But he's a RB and a freshman and this is usually an award for QBs and upperclassmen.

In Oklahoma's biggest games Peterson has stepped up and carried the team. I'm not going to say anythign about J.J. Arrington because I haven't watched him enough to. But I think what Peterson has done when Oklahoma really needed him, plus he is on one of the best teams in the Nation.
For example in OUs games:
Aganist Texas:
32 Carries, 225 Yards
@ Kansas State
36 Carries, 136 Yards
@ Oklahoma State
33 Carries, 249 Yards
@ Texas A&M
29 Carries, 101 Yards
Colorado
28 Carries, 172 Yards
When I look at his stats it just seems he has not only stepped up in every big game but been an absolute workhorse for this offense.

Just looking at JJ stats, he should at least get some Heisman consideration. Im not saying he is better than Peterson, im just saying that he should at least be mentioned.
R. Bush is up there and the game against Cal he rushed 8 carries for 23 yards.
While JJ rushed 21 carries for 112 against USC.
I just dont understand why he doesnt get any consideration.

Leinart because he is the "sexy" pick, but I think Bush, Peterson, or Smith all deserve it more though.
