View Full Version : OFFICIAL "TRADE KWAME BROWN" THREAD

So Kwame Brown has been suspended for tonight's game (a blessing, if you ask me) for getting into it with Eddie Jordan on the sideline in Wed. night's game vs the Nuggets, jawing at him and then walking away from the team huddle after missing a crucial defensive assignment and allowing the Nuggets to easily score. This clown has been nothing but a thorn in the Wizards side since he was drafted #1 overall a few years back (thanks, MJ!!). So i think it's way past time to get rid of him and so i am putting up this "Trade Kwame" thread. Feel free to post your anti-Kwame thoughts here, what you think of him, what should be done with him, etc.

its too early to say this. if he comes back when he is fully healthy and plays wonderfully, u guys would never think this. i say, give him a couple months and if he looks like poop, then we trade him in the offseason or maybe before the deadline. but i think eddie jordan is doing the right thing because kwame DID NOT go back on defense

I have no problem with trading Kwame, I didn't think we should have drafted him and I thought we should have traded him to Miami when we had the chance last year. Right now you won't get anything for him. He'll be gone at the end of this season. The only thing I could possibly think that you may get from him is a deal with Golden State. They are interested in Eddy Curry so I would have to think they would also have some interest in Kwame. Maybe we could get a Mike Dunleavy Jr. or Michael Pietrus for him. Anything would be better then this.

Have you been watching Kwame as a pro????

Atleast Dunleavy is a starter

Kwame has got to go....He is not good enough to be grabbing an attitude....

Trade him for a Ham Sandwich

Or trade him to chicago for Tyson Chandler

(Chandler is considered a bust too, but at least he is a lot more active than Kwame and definitely blocks more shots)

But Chandler is still generating legit interest and has more upside than Kwame. I agree Kwame is a clown and a bust but what could we get for him? A conditional second round pick maybe? Might as well keep him around and let Eddie try his best to work some magic on him. It took Jermaine O'Neal longer than this to come into his own (I know that's a huge stretch).

The opinion of many around the league is that Kwame has more upside
than Tyson. And Chandler has a history of back problems. Kwame was wrong
but I think this situation is being blown somewhat out of proportion.

Dunleavy is soft...Kwame still has potential upside that hasn't been tapped. I didn't catch the spat, what was it about?

I'm so sick of hearing about the freaking upside!?!?!

Upside means nothing, the guy has done NOTHING in the league. He was the #1 overall pick he has been in the league now for almost 3 years. There has been so many excuses for him its ridiculous. First it was that Jordan beat him mentally, then it was because he's young, now its because he's injured. But everyone wait........ EVENTUALLY he's going to break out. It ain't happening people. He's been given the offense to excell, the players to excell. He's lazy, immature, and simply doesn't care to improve and if you watch him on the court its clearly obvious that he doesn't now or didn't ever have the desire to be a great player. It took Jermaine O'Neal 3 years to have a break out season because he was stuck on the bench in Portland. Whats Kwame's excuse for never having a breakout???

Let's see how he responds to this suspension...He better take it as a wake up call and bring it from here on out, otherwise I will start to lose faith in him!

this team's been winning w/ out him. and we have E. Thomas signed for the next 6 years to be our PF and switch Jamison to his more natural SF spot. and we have the role players who do the dirty work in Ruffin and Walker. only thing we need is a viable backup for Haywood. i hope Kwame bounce back from this and show he's matured.. but this is his 4th season.. something's gotta click.

If Kwame does not suddenly prove himself as a worthy #1 draft pick the Wizards will get absolutely nothing for him. Nothing that could improve their team, at least... Wow, wish we could have gotten that #1 the year after and had Lebron.

He is a kid...how do kids normally respond when they get corrected?

With an attitude.

The good news is that we have a GM who does not play games with players. Ernie will send Kwame to the Artic Basketball League for two fur coats and an Ice machine if he thinks for a second that Kwame is not going to fit into this program.

I still think kwame will be a good player. Superstar? absolutely not. Solid low post scorer? yes. If he averages 17 and 8 in his prime than he was worth it just based on that god-awful draft class. People who say we should have taken gasol, didn't say that on draft night. Nobody wanted an unknown 7 foot 200 pound european with little flashiness.

The excuse that he's a kid is getting really old. He's been around the league now for almost 3 years. Its time for him to grow up. Actually last year was time for him to grow up.

even though he had a good game the other day, i have always hated haywood. hes so soft when he is in the paint, and he gets outrebounded by people who arent as big as he is. i dont know, if always disliked him

i used to be like you, i absolutley hated haywood, i thought he was the biggest bum and biggest waste of that tremendous height, but the guy has been a BEAST this season and is quicklly becomind one of my favorites, the improvment he has made from last season to this season has been astronomical and i believe he will continue to develop, haywoods a keeper, good thing we got him locked up for 5 more years

Totally agree split, Haywood has worked out and looks stronger in the paint...he was soft the first couple of years in the league but has done a complete 180.
Haywoods play just may make Kwame more expendable, but that is a discussion taking place on another thread...

I agree with Gibbsrules...If Haywood becomes consistent Kwame's need disappears

I don't agree......

This team is not one player away from being a championship contender right now........they are a strong playoff contender. The future is not now........it is a few years down the road, so if you're in the east, and are building team chemistry for the future, why trade Kwame?? He is a viable asset. An athletic 7 foot big man who was still growing when we drafted him!! Is he even of drinking age yet??

Does Nazr Mohammed make us a contender....No.

Does Tyson Chandler make us a contender....No.

Does Kwame Brown, athletic big man, Etan Thomas, glass eatter, and Haywood, shot changer in the post with our outstanding shooters give us a chance down the road. I think so.

Maybe Mitch Richmond and Kevin Duckworth are available.
