Mark, Fox5 just led off it's newscast saying that the vote hasn't taken place yet.
Where did you hear that it passed?

Still not quite enough, but better approach then what that jerk attempted earlier in the thread.

Fox5 just reported that Linda Cropp has just dropped a bombshell in that she WILL NOT support the current legislation.
I think alot of you may be very disappointed before the night is over.
I feel for you guys.

Cropp wanted 50% private financing added to the legislation, and that ammendment was approved 10-3.
Jack Evans is on record to say that he believes this will be a deal breaker as far as MLB is concerned, and that the city may very well lose the team.
Selig has stated that any significant changes to the current legislation could mean the team doesn't come here, and I would say that this is indeed "significant".

This financing plan looks unlikely to win the approval of the MLB owners. They wanted a City financed stadium. We may only see one season of the Washington Nationals.
The will of the DC natives, does not seem too be the will of its local Politicians.

Yeah the overall proposal was apporved just like i heard 7-6.
Wander how MLB will respond. This is exactly what MLB feared and did nto want, DC going back ion its wrod and altering plans when the relocation was announced. I hope DC residents VOTE HER butt out of office.

Yeah, I was wondering what the excitement was about in the 1st thread. I hope they vote her butt out of office as well.

But doesn't all this just mean that the stadium probably won't be in the District? I really don't care about baseball... but I'm curious.

The MLB would look for a new home for the team. Vegas is being mentioned.

Whomever reported that when you heard it was speculating at the time. They didn't actually vote until well after 11pm.

Baseball in West Virginia, na. Delaware, na. D. C. not now, since this frazzled haired bitc* just laid a f**kin' egg!
Virginia is the only place and you know what. Think in terms of outside the crowded N.Va. area. The only other place is here, in Indianapolis :) or in North Carolina.
