They just released a statement saying that all activity pertaining to the Nationals will cease. Anyone wanting a refund for ticket deposits will receive them.
Congrats to the opposition. You got what you wanted.

From what George said, it was pretty stern too.

It was very stern. They were reading it from the AP wire on 980 when I was on the way home when it broke, and you could tell that they weren't bluffing.

It should be. If I were MLB I'd voice in no uncertain terms my displeasure at the absolute pathetic way the city council has handle this episode. I'd go out of my way to ensure that DC would never have anything to do with baseball again. F-ing stupid city council members.

some middle aged women will do anything for attention, 15 minutes of fame and decades of a real bad headache if she scuttles the team having a new stadium, much less continuing on with the deal.
She needs something quick. Don't give her no dollars or anything, because she's only doing it for attention. Whatever her political aspirations are after this and if she succeeds as the bi*ch from hell that sucked the life out of MLB, are toast. She will not even come close to smelling a single vote or consideration on another board. Much less save face afterwards.
This is exactly why musical talent goes bad in D.C. , because someone always wants an "undeserving" cut out of pie that was for everyone. They want to hoard it (an understatement) for themselves, then try and sell it off to the public (when by then its damaged, unimaginitive goods!).
Being a native son of D.C. I am embarrassed by this hussie and think she should step aside and go shopping for a new career and get a life.
What a stupid bit*h!!!!! :sfight:
