Starts off nice with a win against the Lakers. This was a game they had to win. They had the advantage of getting the lakes after a road game the previous night so I would have been pretty bummed to have not taken advantage of that. I really thought they were going to get beat by a 3 again as the lakers where burying them all night. Luckily the wiz shot very well and pulled it off despite the 14 made 3 pointers.
Tomorrow will be a tough game against Phoenix but luckily the suns are comming off a tough fought game at Seattle tonightso the wiz aught to have a shot. The scary thing is I dont know how they are going to stop Stoudamire.
I am still hoping for a 2-3 record from this trip but if they can steal a game somewhere and go 3-2 I think they will really have made a statement.

I missed the game but I am glad to hear they won! That is a big confidence booster anytime you can beat the Lakers...no matter what state they are in.

the Lakers were lights out on 3's and Kobe had a triple double. but our big 3 combined for 92 points with Arenas leading the way in his hometown.
L.A. was playing back to back but they played in Sacramento so it's not like they were flying half way around the country. and the WizLets play 2 back to back games including the one tonight then after a day off, it's back to back again. 4 games in 5 nights is a test. Phoenix did have a hard fought game last night vs. Seattle but we had an OT game so no one gets the advantage in this one. it will be a tough game to say the least against a 20-3 team.

we tore them up in the paint and that was the big difference. Everytime we play a team with not the best center we need to keep attacking like that.

Well, they lost tonight and I didnt get to see much of the game. I turned it on in the 4th and I must say I was disappointed to see the game get away from them so fast halfway through the quarter. I was expecting them to lose but I was hoping it would be closer.
1 and 1 so far. Need to beat Golden State on Monday.

Phoenix is real tough. I thought Stoudemire would kill us. Did he get hurt? They have a ton of weapons out there and they can hit you from all angles. We caught the Lakers coming off a big win against Sacramento and tonight the Suns caught us coming off a big win vs the Lakers.
This is a brutal road trip and will tell alot about the character of this young team.

Stoudamire didnt get hurt as far as I know. When I turned on the game in the 4th he got his 5th foul shortly and they took him out. Turns out they didnt need him and rested him the rest of the way.
What about Haywood? I didnt see him in the 4th quarter at all.

He hardly ever plays the fourth quarter, which I don't understand.

isnt haywood leading the league in offensive rebounding?

12-19-2004, 04:04 PM
haywood last year barely ever played after the 1st half but this year hes been going deep and making key plays....know your stuff
he didnt play in the 4th because the game was practically over and they needed to rest him for the games on monday and tuesday
most of the starters got rest throughout the game it just happened that haywood got rest in the 4th

They were still really in the game in the beginning of the 4th. I think they were down by less then 10 when I first turned it on.

this is disgusting. I cant believe they blew this game. There is no way they can lose a game like this on a road trip like this.

Wow! I cant believe they pulled it off. I thought for sure they were done when the warriors tied it up. Arenas was clutch as heck with that shot.
If they would have lost they would have deserved it. They should have killed this team. They were getting so many offensive rebounds and would fail to put it back in.
I though they were cooked when they were up by nine and then Ruffin got fouled twice in a row and made 1 of 4 free throws. The one he made was lucky!
Oh well. A win is a win.
2-1 for the trip so far with the Kings tomorrow night. Its a shame the wiz struggled so much in this game because Sacramento is well rested comming off a 30+ point win on sunday.

they have a chance against the kings because they can run with them. i wouldnt be surprised to see them beat sac town.....

That was a heckuva shot by Arenas! I just saw it on SC this morning, but they were retarted not to put that in the Top Ten.

Arenas is penetrating like crazy this year. I love it. Its get the other team in foul trouble and it opens up the 3 point game. Its just a shame Hughes or Hayes cant knock them down with any consistency.

Heck of a game last night. I stayed up till 1:30 in the a.m. watching it. Thought they blew it for sure. This team seems to have a knack of pulling out the close ones.

I missed the game cause it started way too late. I bet Arenas feels good getting the winning shot against his old team. The Wiz continue to win the games they should. You have to like that.

Ruffin had 11 offensive rebounds. Now we got a tough game against the Kings. Hopefully the momentum keeps going.

Check it out the Wizards made #10 in the cbs power poll
Gilbert Arenas trumped Kobe in his return home to California, then celebrated his departure by dropping the Warriors on a buzzer-beater. He's quietly emerging as one of the East's top guards.

Jamison, Arenas and Hughes combined for 72 points last night! Ruffin got 11 Offensive rebounds as was mentioned earlier, you think the Warriors are missing Eric Dampier right now?
I hope they have something in the tank for tonight.

Wiz take on Sacramento in 5 minutes.
The Sacs are 10-2 at home...while the Wiz are 7-5 on the road.
Both teams average over 100ppg...and both allow around 98-99 per game. This one is certainly going over 200 combined.
Gotta get Weber in foul trouble early, and guard Peja carefully!

ugh halftime and we are lucky to be only down by 9. Any team that can hit 3's simply murder us.
Sac's shooting over 57 percent in the first half 5-10 from 3pt range.
we have 11 TOs already.
Sac is just way better then us and when they start moving the ball around it looks like we are a high school team.

welp... everytime they would get close they would do something stupid like have the inbound stolen or jack up some dumb shot. They even had it down to a 1 point lead in the 3rd quarter.
2-2 for the road trip
