Anyone watching the Eagles/Girls game. Did you guys hear what was just said?

They were talking about the Redskins/Girls game next week and the guy that there with moose said that the Redskins were playing better as of late. Johnson gives a sarcastic cough and says "Ramsey". Then coughs again. They share in a laugh, then move on.

Man, Johnson used to be a very good comentator and stayed in the middle of the road. But here lately, he has been bashing on any team other than the Girls.

I suppose he thinks the Girls have a better QB than Ramsey....just pisses the hell off.

hte incompetence of on screen commentators just baffles me. i mute the skins games and listen to sonny and sam. sure sonny's a homer, but hes still better than baldy and co.

Mike, if it happened like you say it did, you may have taken it the wrong way. From how I see it, someone mentioned that the Redskins were playing better, and Moose's little *cough*Ramsey*cough* was saying "Well, obviously, because Gibbs finally put in Ramsey instead of Brunell."

I may have been wrong, but it didn't come out that way. No mention of Brunell or Gibbs. You had to hear it to get the gist of it.

thats not how i took it at all. it sounded like he was making fun of ramsey's thrown against the eagles last week. he said "patrick ramsey, *cough* *cough*". then stockton said that he hoped he had something stuck in his throat. it sounded to me like they were making fun of him....

I think he was actually giving the Redskins a compliment

Everybody in the league knew Ramsey was the better QB and now the Redskins are much better. Like everyone else he is saying it quietly because no one questions Sir Gibbs...

Relax My lady....Moose is a very good commentator. I actually like it when he calls games and we already know Dick Stockton is a lifelong Skins fan.

Good broadcast team and way to back Ramsey moose!

Cruising270
12-19-2004, 04:15 PM
I definitly think it's a complement.

The Redskins are playing better as of late - basicly saying that we are looking better as a team

*Cough* Ramsey *Cought* - This was him saying it was because Ramsey has been playing better than burnell. The cough part was because nobody wants to flat out say Burnell sucked and Ramsey should have started earlier.

I can't understand how this cannot be taken as a complement. He gave a complement and then associated a specific name with the complement.

This is one of the glass half full or empty situations...

I am pretty sure that moose was saying that Ramsey was needed to get the offense going.

No one can challenge the results with Ramsey as QB versus Brunell.

Did anyone hear the Joe Gibbs interview on Fox before the game? He said that the Mark Brunell story in Washington is not over, more chapters to be written. I hope that doesn't mean that there will be an open competition in training camp for the QB job. I think Ramsey has proven that the job is his next year. Plus, he will need all the snaps he can get as the first team QB in TC, etc.

I agree, I heard it and thought it was a compliment to Ram. It's like he was saying thanks to Ram finally being in, they are playing better.

they wouldn't make fun of the Skins' like that. Moose and Aikman being former Cowboys have actually been the Skins' best supporters in the broadcast booth. they respect the Skins' being their former biggest rivals and they both predicted Playoffs for us for the last 3 years. Stockton used to call a lot of Skins' preseason games in the past and they are far more in favor of the Skins' compared to the other imbeciles on Fox.

On the other hand...who gives a shiatt what Moose Johnson thinks? It's like during the Skins/Niners, after Sean got popped hard in the mowf...hard enough to need stitches and Chris Myers makes a lame ass joke about "keeping a stiff upper lip". Very funny. Has Chris Myers ever worn a jock strap in his life? Sean, of course, got right back in the game and played very tough the rest of the day.

I am not going to dignify Miss Johnson, but I will say, it was the OLINE< not the QB that choked. Remember who the FB was in Dallas, and remember who's in the booth with the primetimers. JJ (former Coach) knew what I was talking about, but would be miffed at Miss Johnson (moose johnson I mean) also. Fame can get you in places you don't belong, but you're the only one that doesn't know it :)

This was the way I took it too. I didn't think much of it until now, but I thought Moose meant that we were playing better now with Ramsey in the game. I don't think he was making fun of Ramsey, he was making fun of Mark Brunell and hinting that it's about time that Gibbs benched him.

i didnt hear it, so my 2 cents really isnt worth much, but i would say that moose was saying that ramsey sucked. i mean, normally when you cough something, its something bad. and if he had something good to say about ramsey, why didnt he just come out and say it?

I didn't hear it, but I tend to think it would be a compliment as well, especially based on Moose's style. I've always found him to be pretty intelligent and someone who comes across as very unbiased. He never seemed like the kind of guy who would insult another player like that, especially since Ramsey has put up numbers that are so much better than Brunell's. An insult wouldn't even make sense when you look at how Ramsey has played the last few weeks (that one pick notwithstanding). With all the talk about not putting Ramsey in earlier, just seems like his comment was directed at Gibbs' decision to stick with Brunell.

But hey, I didn't hear the context, so who knows.

when i was watching the game i took it as a negative and an insult to ramsey. I even asked a friend who was watching the game with me..."what was that?" Like i couldn't believe what they just said. The whole conversation was that our offense was hapless and they were definitely mocking ramsey.

i couldn't agree more!!! they were laughing and carrying on like a couple of school girls...??? when i heard my reaction was "F*%& you!!!!"

personally, i think they are awful as a team. siragusa is an immature child and moose and stockton seemed to have lowered to his level. did anyone else see siragusa's first game as a sideline reporter? at the end of the game moose and stockton congratulated him, and tony said something along the lines os "thats guys for helping pop my cherry"...

my jaw hit the floor, and it took awhile for my brain to process what he said... it was NUTS!

That is the way I took it. In fact, I think they said later int he ganme as well that one of Gibbs biggest mistakes, according to several 'officials' aroudn the various NFL teams, was sticking with Brunell for so long. I think the cough Ramsey was to show that they believe Ramsey WAS and IS the improvement. They said they are playing better of late, then one coughs and say Ramsey. I took it as that as well that Gibbs had a major flub with his Brunell loyalty.
