Bring on the Orioles, I'd love to beat the crap out of them to get the franchise started in the right direction.

Angelos would be afraid to "lose" more of his fan base once they got a load of us.

I agree with the both of you guys. I'd love for the O's to be the first team to play, and lose, to the Nationals.
And I also agree with SkinsKY that PA is to scare to do that game for the reason he said earlier.
With the Nationals, and eventually having the Washington Warriors, [AFL] offseason may not seem to be as long.

I hope they open with the Phils, as I would try to be there for that

I think that the Phils will wind up being the biggest rival, since Baltimore is another League. The few games they play will have some stuff to them, but the Phils will be the team that schools Washington and gives them the warm welcome into the National League. I have always wanted to see Sousa, Bonds, Big Unit, A-Rod, etc., so now I will get my chance! Yes!

The orioles would be nice to crush
The Yankees would be a nice draw although we would get smoked like salmon.
But if you are going to beat the best you have to the play the best so we should get whomped on by the Red Sox.

What's the bet that the Nationals will OPEN the season on national television to provide them with as much publicity as possible? I am not being cynical, I just want to know if people agree with me that they will. Mind you if they do I'll be watching it on TV over here!!

I agree and I am sure MLB will capitalize on that to sell the new team in the big market. I think the opening of the new stadium will be a much bigger deal though.
