View Full Version : Wiz down 32 at half versus Mavs... (UGH)

Not liking what I see.
Wiz shooting 29% from the floor, while allowing 58% for the Mavs. Finley is killing from the 3-point line...while the Wiz have made only one all half.
I hope this one doesn't get any further out of hand...
We need Larry back!

It's embarrassing tonight but we should step back up versus Toronto in a couple days... Really would have liked to at least look capable against these two Texas teams though... sigh...

i was gonna start a thread on the Texas 2-Step Massacre but decided to just post in the "San Antonio Slaughter House" thread.
even w/ out Larry and playing against better teams should not equate to a 28 point blowout then follow it up with a 33 point blowout.. AT the Half?!?
Tony K.'s curse of Lez Boulez might be upon us cuz' i'm wondering who kidnapped our team in Texas.

Hughes is out for 4-6 weeks officially which means 2 months. I project that when he comes back vs boston on march 13 the wizards will be 30-29. Looking at their schedule i initially said 32-27, but dc luck brings it down by 2 games.

I told everyone, we can just watch this ship sink without larry, this is making me so angry, i thought we FINALLY had a team over here in washington.....

Yeah, i'm doubting a playoff birth right now.

yuuuuup, thew worst thing that could happen to us happened, hughes did SO many things for our team, he jump started our o with all his steals, he took pressure off gilbert and gave antwan room downlow with his much improved 3 point shooting. I cant believe this is happening......

Wow! 123-112 with 2:25 left. what a comeback from 37 down. NOW they're playing with some heart and fire. even if they lose hopefully this will be the beginning for this team to step up w/ out Larry. whoever kidnapped the Wiz must've received his ransom.
EDIT: the final score is still a blowout (137-120) but a much better performance in the 2nd half (outscored them 80-64) even if Dallas wasn't playing as hard. can we say "Defense" fellas?

Wilbon said on PTI that when Hughes gets back we'll be right around .500 and then he comes back and we'll make another run again, we'll be fine if we can just beat the clown teams til he gets back, but it's still embarrassing to give up 137 points in a game.

This is not the same roll over team we used to see from the latter day Wizards. Something special bout this one. Aint over till it's over.

i loved the way they fought back but, too little too late.
im telling you, there had to have been a lid on the basket in the first half. the "bullets" couldnt make a basket if their lives depended on it! it seems to me like the guys may have been lacking confidence in the last two games. they need to regroup and find a way to win without larry.....

Ok, I know losing Hughes hurts, but they are not that bad without him. Hayes ad everyone else needs to step up. Yes Dallas is good, but I refuse to believe the Wiz are that bad.

We are really missing Larry's defensive skills. Losing the league's top ball stealer sure hurts. We can't continue to give up 110+, 120+ or *gulp* 130+ points to our opponents and expect to win.

I think Jordan will right the ship, although we cannot totally judge the wiz based on this very tough road trip. Even at full strength this would have been murder row.

Yeah, I think we would've lost that SA game even if we had Larry. They're just too good. And how come no one mentioned Gilbert's career high yesterday? He scored 43... Didn't he?

I would probably just tell my dad to hold off on the tickets then, maybe try to go to a better game (or better seats) later on. With all the snow and everything, finding a seat and getting out of the MCI Center would probably be hell.

Not sure, but it doesn't necessarily have to be like within this month, does it? I mean, yeah, games are fun to go to, but if you're going and you are going to have a nosebleed seat where its hard to see the action, you may as well just ride out the storm and try and get some better seats next time. Up to you, though.
I know during the football season, my father and I scored tickets to all three of the primetime games, and those start and end REAL late, especially on school nights. Went to all three of them, had a little problem in the morning, but it was totally worth it. Should ask your parents, maybe they'll say okay to a school night game.
Good luck with that little delimma though man.

Yeah I have. It's the very top. It's really far, but I didn't find it hard to see and recognize the players.

ookay... sike... I have Kobe on my team in NBA Live. I'm the Lakers actually. I prolly have the best line up of all time... Except for my center. He's a pretty crappy rookie. I have LeBron, Steve Fracis, Kobe, Gil Arenas, and Josh Childress all on the same team.

Arenas and Childress sit on the bench... My center is 7'4". Then Lamar Odom is playing PF. I had Dwayne Wade but I traded him and Brian Grant to the Cavs for LeBron.
oh... And I gave Tim Duncan to the Wiz for Gil Arenas and Larry Hughes. I forgot what I did with Larry. And I forgot how I got Tim Duncan.

But I got it in my dynasty... Not by being cheap and trading them before I started it. I should be a GM!! :D
