UMD will probably lose 4 games including the one vs navy because they always start slowly. Hopefully steffy can win the qb job this year because i dont think i can watch statham again.

Do you guys think its fair for the ACC to schedule UM/FSU so early in the season?
I think why they do this is to give both teams time to rebound from an early loss. That way they both can still challenge for a national championship.
If they scheduled this game closer to the end of the season, one of them could be eliminated.
thoughts?

Yeah, with them doing it again this upcoming season, I too think that is indeed the case.

Look at the other ACC favs for a BCS game.
Virginia has to play Va. Tech and Miami the last two games of the year. If UVA goes undefeated, but then loses one of the last two game, they will be eliminated from the championship game.
Virgina Tech has to play Miami and UVA at the end of their season. [UNC the last game, which shouldn't be to much of a game to worry about]
Its pretty clear the ACC is looking out for the two "power houses" of the ACC. I wouldn't be too surprised if this was talked about when UM was mentioned about joining the ACC. I can see Bowden being worried about a late season loss. Too bad that FSU has been losing to some other teams more regularly as of late.

Yeah, that does seem to stack the odds against UVA and Tech. I know that UVA/Tech play every year around Thanksgiving, so that part of the equation doesn't really mean much.
What I'm not sure of is did Tech and Miami always play their game against each other at the end of the year when they were in the Big East.

Thats a good point Kenny. I think they may have....

What I'm also curious of is when FSU and Miami played before, were their matchups always early in the year?
CarMike

I think those were too. Thats why I think it was agreed upon that it would continue to be the same once UM joined the ACC.
I'm pretty sure they played very early in the season.

Yeah, but the season opener is a different story. It gives the loser the entire rest of the season to recover.
I would love for someone from the league to be questioned publically about this.

wow. Tech's schedule is pretty favorable. I see four hard games the whole schedule, two of which I'm confident we will definitely win.
@WVU (part of me hates playing at WV, cuz we always play like crap. but this time half their offense is gone)
@UVA (hardest road game by far)
Miami (we have owned them of late and it's in our house, but nonetheless it's miami)
Boston College (they are getting better but still not impressive on the road)

You are absolutely right, suppitty.
I don't know if I could go threw another season with Statham.
The Terps don't play Duke this year.
That would have been an automatic win for the Terps as always.
Hey, CarMike.
I just might make it down for the MD vs NC game on Nov. 12, if there is no Redskins HOME game the next day. I can get us tickets threw U of M if you don't mind sitting in the Terps section. :lol1:

As long as Maryland fans don't get too upset after losing the game! :lol1:
We're supposed to be going to Disney World next fall. Not to sure of the dates right now.
Sounds like it would be a lot fo fun!

FSU and Miami normally played on either the 1st or 2nd Saturday in October. I can't remember which, but it was on the same Saturday that Oklahoma and Texas play.

Whats the story on Navy next year? Are they going to be as good as last year?

To be honest Mike - I have no idea. I've just always thought it would be fun to attend a MDvsNavy game. That time of year - it's going to hot/warm still - a good day of tailgating/beer drinking/ and crab picking. Just sounds like fun to me!
