View Full Version : Georgetown looks impresive

They have looked very impresive so far this season. They look like a lock for the NIT which is a real accomplishment considering 6 months the program was left for dead. They have some great looking freshman including local boys Roy hibbert (7-2), and jeff green (very versatile big man). They have the lead by 2 here over nd, and notre dame has the last shot.
Chris quinn disgusts me by the way.

Actually the Hoyas are making a run at the NCAA tourney...See what playing good defense and a controlled offense can do to a team...Oh yea and a good coach....God Bless the Hoyas!!!! :Peace:

UMD needs all the help they can get...and the big east is a better overall conference than the much overrated ACC this year and for the next few years too with probably with Cincy, Louisville, and Marquette coming in

suppitty

The ACC is not overrated. All the teams just knock each other off. You have UNC and Wake as the top tier. GaTech and Duke are a small step behind them, and then NCST, UMD, FSU, and Miami are further behind them, followed by UVA, Vatech, and Clemson who would be in contention in cusa, the big 10, and the pac 10 which are all still considered "major" conferences. And remember BC is coming to the acc next year.

Its overrated in the sense that everyone was predicting 7 or 8 teams to the NCAA tourny when clearly only 4 will likely go and that could be trimmed to 3 if GA Tech continues to struggle...even Andy Katz who is an ACC worshipper was ashamed to admit last night on College bball game night that he thought the ACC would send a lot of teams to the tourney...everyone knows that Wake, Duke, and Carolina is in a class of their own and they are as good as advertised though, but the rest of the ACC teams are suspect

I still think they will get at least 5 teams. UNC, GT, DUke, Wake, and Miami/NcSt/UMD/FSU.

The real crime is that Gtown-Cuse is one of (Or used to be) the best Rivalries in College Basketball. It was right up there with UNC-Duke and THIS GAME WAS NOT TELEVISED!!!!!!!

Hibbert was at my school last year for about a week during the big annual basketball tourney we host. He was, well, garbage. You might not be able to teach 7-2, but obviously you sure as heck can't teach anything else to this kid, either.

Haha, my freshman basketball team ALMOST beat Bishop Macnamera once! Of course I had nothing to do with that game, I rode the pine :)

We'd scrimmage Gonzaga and Dematha here and there in Lax but in the regular season we stuck to the southern Va teams outside our conference... My senior year we were runners up in the state championship in Lax, Woodberry Forest beat us after we had beaten them earlier that year :(

And there lies the highlight of my high school career that I'll be harping on throughout my mid-life crisis... Enjoy.

Actually it was WMAC during my day. I went to Good Counsel and we pretty much sucked in football then, but we were up and coming in basketball. Only team we didn't beat during my time was DeMatha.

My sport was baseball. My JR. Year we beat DeMatha in the championship and I was 8-1 as a pitcher that year. There are my HS highlights in a nutshell

Never had Hooper, got Brent though. She's great. Faus is leaving after this year, by the way.

Looked ya up in the yearbook today; obviously you liekd Shawshank Redemption. NYU, huh? I was gonna apply there, but didn't like it when I toured. Of course, now I'm wishing I had. My chances at the schools I actually did apply to are dropping, and right now a lot of my fate lies in the hands of Mr. Nemetz.....

NYU is ok, the city is great but I'm excited to finish school. Dr. Brent is awesome even though we had our fair share of run ins, we enjoyed our time together, she is easily the best teacher at the school.

I heard Nemetz is hard but I was never good enough in math to take any of his classes. I'm sure your school situation will pan out just fine, in fact if you want a confidence boost go find Ms. Pence and ask her to tell you about my horrible experience applying to schools, you'll feel a lot better about your chances.

Faus is alright I guess, my family had some issues with him but he's a good man, you really don't want to mention Taibl around my house though... Major beefs with him. High school was a weird four years...

I wouldn't say Brent's the best, but that's only because I've had Mr. Garikes for two years. He came in the year after you left, and he's so good that he'll be replacing Faus even though almost every other teacher has been here longer.

Ms. Pence is gone, now we have Ms. Van Way. She's nice as hell, but no amount of niceness will make me feel any better about my situation unless if get the .6% I need from Nemetz. And, yeah, he's hard as hell. His grading makes no sense.

What happened with you and Taibl?

Jeff Green is a beast. 6-9 and growing apparently. Has the build to get up around 250. Can run better than most 3's. Can shoot as well as most 2's. Can put the ball on the floor, and post up inside. Him and bowman are going to cause a lot of problems this year, and a frontcourt of bowman, green, and hibbert has to be the biggest in the nation. Green had 21 and 9 tonight by the way.

The two teams who play in the mci center both run the motion offense. The wizards run it about 150 mph, while georgetown runs it about 10 mph. They can't get themselves into holes like they did last night because with their slow offense it is hard to come back. Jeff Green was making some great passes though, and i expect them to continue to improve. I thought the game was much closer than 15 points.
