Preview (http://www.sportsline.com/nba/gamecenter/preview/NBA_20050214_WAS@NO)
Dan Dickau continued his solid play by scoring a career-high 28 points, including 17 in the second half to keep the Hornets close.
"It was just normal flow-of-the-game shots I was making," said Dickau, who shot 10-of-16 and hit seven three-pointers. "We've had so many close games that we lost. We could easily have 20, 22 wins right now, and that's the frustrating thing."
R.J. Smith scored 20 points Sunday for New Orleans, which has won seven games in a row over the Wizards at home since a 97-85 defeat on Nov. 11, 2000.
Since posting just two wins during the first two months, New Orleans has won eight of its last 20 games. The Hornets have especially picked up their play at home, where they have won six of their last nine games and are averaging 103.5 points on 47 percent shooting in those victories.
The Hornets lead the all-time series 37-25, including a 22-8 mark at home.
The Wiz should win this game but it wont be easy.
I expect a high scoring game say 118-112.

Wiz 115
Hornets 93
The wiz dominate the lesser team all game, and pull away with an easy "w"

Halftime Wiz are behind 48-51.
I had a feeling this wouldn't be easy.

End of the 3rd behind 72-77.
a loss to the Hornets would hurt.

the worst loss of the season.. eclipses the Toronto debacle in the 4th. we lost to a team that had 10 wins all season!! doesn't matter that they've been playing better of late. they're without their big 3 in Davis, Magloire and Mashburn.
doesn't look good for tomorrow night against the Rockets either. i expect us to be 30-22 with a 3 game losing streak and 8-9 without Hughes going into the break.

Arenas and Jamison showed up, Haywood got mugged by a forward, and NO used fouls to make shooters think twice about bruses instead of shot selection. NO was in a deficit for fouls, meaning they were sending our guys to the line, but we fouled back at crucial moments, mainly down the stretch in the act of shooting allowing them extra points.
This is a wake up call that no team is to be taken for granted and they should know from experience of last year, what that's like.

wow, i am shocked by this loss. it is a wakeup call that anybody in the nba can win at anytime and to not take any team lightly.

That sucked. They better get serious. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Dude...that game hurt my eyes.
They better tighten it up or they will go from contender back to laughing stock in very short order.
SIDE NOTE: Ramos was activated for this game. There has got to be a way you can use a 7'3 290 pound guy. If you cannot you are not being creative enough. He improves the defense dramatically just by being out there and putting his hands up.
What's the deal with Kwame? Will he play this season?

What a great game... Goes to show that even in a down year, my Hornets can still whoop up on the Wizards (Without Baron, Mash, Nailon, Mags)...time for the Wiz to get back in the cellar where they belong!
