How much do you guys remember about the first Madden ever? If I rember correctly, it was just called John Madden Football. I think the first version came out after the Giants beat the Bills in the SB. (am I right?) I remember you could only play with the playoff teams (again, I'm not sure) I'm sure that there weren't any team logos (what year did that come out?), there were only the colors.

Man, Madden was always a great game, from the first version till today. If I had one of those old versions I'd probably be playing it today.

The first Madden I played was Madden 95 for Genesis...I still have the game somewhere, but my Sega broke.

The worst Madden ever was Madden 64, there were no logos in that one either because for some reason it wasn't licensed by the NFL (only the players association)

Well, I've only been playing for about 2 years now, so I wouldn't be able to tell you. Sounds right, but I'm not sure.

Madden 93 was the best, HB sweep right, money play baby! NHL 94 was also the hotness, wrap around shot, easy money, I love those games.

hey whitskins, do you remeber those old versions of EA NBA games? I think the first one were called Pistons vs. Lakers, then Celtics vs. Lakers depending on who got to the NBA finals that year. I remeber that at that time those games rocked! There was nothing like them back then.

I remember I had a game called 'Bulls VS Blazers and the NBA Playoffs'.

I remember I had Roger Clemens Baseball for SNES. There were about 3 or 4 actual players and no real teams, they just made everything up. That was back when sports didn't think they could make any money licensing that stuff out to games.

Remeber that at halftime they would show a great dunk or something from another game (for example: the glide by Clyde Drexler). They should try doing something similar to that in Madden, now. You're rght though, the first was called Bulls vs. Blazers was one of the firsts, but I think there were others. I used to play that game for hours and hours.

The original NBA was Lakers vs Celtics.

Madden was reffered to as John Madden football and only had like 16teams. the Niners were sick tough to beat. Madden 93 was the one released after the Skins won the SB and I still have it.

That was when 64 was getting rushed out. At first they decided to go against putting out a Madden game in the first year, but fearing they would get killed by Playstation if they did that at the last minute they changed their minds and put out Madden 64. They didn't have time to get the licensing rights from the NFL, so you can play as the Foxboro team.

Remember the SportsTalk series? You would have a 1-1 count by the time the annoucer finished calling the play.

Madden 64? What's that? Do you mean 94?

Can someone explain this to me?

when Nintendo 64 first came out, they didn't continue the Madden series with a year, they called it madden 64. It sucked by the way. After that they went to the year system. Madden 64 is the equivalent of Madden 98.
