Vote, and let's see if the Majority is right come April opener.

I said Castilla, because of his RBI and HR totals from last year.

Castilla doesn't hit for a very good avg. compared to the other players in the Nats. lineup. Gullien will probably go at the 3, and Wilkerson 2 or leadoff. Of course Castilla won't be in the 4 spot for long once he finds out that he isn't in Colorado anymore.

I think Jose Guillen will win this, with Castilla at #5 and Wilkerson at #3. Actually, the middle of the lineup will be pretty potent this season. We just have to hope our arms in the rotation and bullpen excel.

I think Vinny has the experience needed to hit cleanup!

Livan will probably eat up a ton of innings this year like he always does. He is set to have a great year with all of the added power to the line-up.

I have it that way too. I'm real excited to see what Guillen can do.

yo guys are forgetting about VIdro. The man hits for a ton pof average and has good power for a middle infielder. He will force Guillen/Wilkerson back to 4th and castilla will definetly be 5th as he cant hit for average outside of mile high. order is as follows IMO

1-Sledge
2-Wilkerson
3-Vidro
4-Guillen
5-Wilkerson
6-Johnson
7-SS (who plays it?)
8-Schneider
9-p

appears accurate although wilkerson should go 4 guillen 3 and vidro 2 i believe and then the ss is christian guzman who can steal bases

guillen and wilkerson easily have the most power on the team. Both have 30 homer/90 rbi capabilities. I really like vidro in the two hole also, but three is probably the better option considering he is our best overall hitter. Guzman, Wilkerson, Vidro, Guillen, Castilla... Christian and Termell Sledge are both interchangeable at the 8/1 spots, they can both set up rallies with their speed and bunting capabilities.

i think Castilla's veteran status will make him the cleanup hitter (35 HR's last year in which 21 was on the road and 14 in Colorado).. in the beginning. but by the end i expect Guillen to take it.

yeah castilla will probably start out the year batting cleanup but i think by the end he will move down to fifth and wilkerson/guillen will be batting 3/4

with sledge and guzman putting up abyzmal OBP #'s, its possible that wilkerson could be back in the 1 spot too. Guzman came up with some good averages last year but it remains to be seen if he can do it again. Thats why i think Vidro goes 3 and guillen goes 4th

for castilla, who batted .271 overall, he batted .216 outside of coors, where he batted .321

we saw what raffy did with a crap average in the cleanup spot, so guillen goes 4th

Endy chavez should be the leadoff, not sledge.

does wilkerson have speed?

Beast56Redskin

he spent most of his time last season in the one spot, because he gets ONBASE. sometimes having a tablesetter is more important than having a basestealing threat. ideally you want to combine the two, AKA Juan pierre, carl crawford, dave roberts etc, but if they dont get on base they arent much use stealing bases now are they....

straightupbeast

put him at 2, guillen 3, castilla 4

Jose Guillen is easily the best hitter on the team. Expect 35 HR 125 RBI and a healthy batting average. Castilla is a joke. :flower1:

Vinny, cuz he's the best power hitter the Nats have.

I think Castilla should be the clean up hitter. With Castilla 4th and Guillen 5th, its much harder to intentially walk knowing you have Guillen next than Castilla in my view. Guillen is a power hitter but he can huit for a better average and gets contact more.

i think that it should be guillen even though castilla will get it b/c hehit so well last year. top in national league rbi's. but i agree, guillen will probably have it by the end of the year
