I think this was coming all along, especially after the release of Brad Johnson. Simms doesn't look ready yet.

yeah, I don't know what everybody sees in Simms because in all honesty I don't really see much. If the Bucs had let Griese go then... i dunno.... it'd be just a REALLY dumb move.

Simms isn't ready so I suppose it's a good move. Greise makes me nervous though - just remember him in Denver.

Whateva...this doesn't have anything to do with us...just takes another scrubb off the FA market.

Tampa will be very interesting next season. Griese looked pretty good in that offense last year.

My (without much thought) power rankings going into next season are..

1. Carolina Panthers - the toughest team in the NFC easily. If they are healthy they are gonna issue a lot of POUNDCAKE.
2. Philadelphia Eagles - Until Reid and McNugget decide to run they will be soft and one demensional.
3. Atlanta Falcons - (God help the league if Vick starts passing or gets a legit WR)
4. Minnesota Vikings - They will be much better without Moss and that young but improving defense.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The defense keeps them in the top 5 and that offense is not bad at all when healthy.

Notables: St. Louis, New Orleans, Seattle, Arizona

I've always been a fan of Griese...well...except for his falling down drunk in his driveway incident and hurting himself...and except for his tripping over his Black Lab down the stairs incident...and except for him mouthing off to his teamates incident.

Nevermind...now that I think about it...I'm not a fan of Griese...

Hope the Bucs lose every game...

You forgot to mention the rear-ending a car in a funeral procession incident.

There is some good to remember in Denver as well. Griese is a solid average starting QB. He'd make a great back up (theoritically assuming he'd accept the role). I love second generation players (in general).
