Gregg Ogden, the highly touted High School big man (Center at 7'0) is in his second season with Lawrence North, going after their second title in 2 years. Last week the walked forward over a foe that played with heart, but with only one weapon. This week Lawrence North (3) faces an opponent intent on using slashing players, defense, street ball handling, slick moves and aerial dunking from three players.

Ogden's in for the game of his life against Arlington High School (1), and I can tell you from experience of living in the hood, they lay the smack down.

The game is sold out of course. If you're in Indy, its on cable, and trying to find the local radio station. It may even be on national cable (maybe a replay from delay).

ODEN scored about 20 pts and had 18 BLOCKS, even though Arlington swarmed him and shot from outside.
Congrats!

I don't think he's going to college.

haha... 18 blocks, that's crazy! But we lost yesterday by three! :( and he really should go to college. It's the smart thing to do.

sorry to get back so late to this, almost forgot Smoot!

No they won, by pulling away in the 3rd QTr and him personally shutting down their team defensively with blocks and uncontested dunks, one handed, two handed, gliding on receiving passes, post ups. He is awesome! He is so unselfish, yet he keeps these big numbers. That is a great player waiting to happen.

I want him to go to college and bad too. I know the horrors of something happening to a guy and then being a has been reduces him to a gas station attendant or bagging groceries, etc. because they didn't have the degree. He is very smart and as much as people try their best to push him to go to college,it will be awfully tough with the money they will throw at him, and when the Reeboks and Nikes come sailing along, it will be twice as hard with the lucrative offers for his entire family.

My guess. After long talks inside himself, he decides to at least go to college, but in his second yr, he turns pro. The college is likely to be a Big East team or ACC. If its local, he will best be served going to IU or Notre Dame.

They (Lawrence North) beat Cathedral, in a superslow defensive game, in which Oden was even slowed, but not stopped as he kept them from scoring key baskets, fed his teammates who helped pull it out, with outside shooting. A real close one, 39-37. Whew.

They are in the 4A Final now.
