I attended my first Redskins game in 1962 - against the NY (football) Giants. Been hooked ever since!

The first Game I remember attending was in 1977 at RFK. We played the Eagles.
In my house, if you wanted to eat with the rest of the family you had to pronounce your undying love for the B&G. (Okay not really, but pretty damn close)

I became a fan when I moved to Northern Virginia in 1998.
Of course, I was treated to a decent season in '99...but nothing good since... :devil2:

My streak includes listening to the radio sometimes because I have been out of town or something.
However, there was about a 12 week span in the fall of 1991 when I was in basic training and wasn't able to hear the games. This really sucked because that was the last championship year. I had my family mail me the box score each week. I did catch the Superbowl that year. What made it extra sweet was that my "battle buddy" as they were called was from Buffalo and was a HUGE Bills fan. That poor, poor man.
So, from 1977 - 1991, and from 1992 on, I can't remember EVER missing a game, even when it was too painful to watch.

1982. I remember being a little kid on the eastern shore of MD watching games. I remember really rooting for the Skins for the first time in SB17.
I don't get to many games, but I can't imagine anyone could love the team more in their hearts. I've been through good and bad but I wouldn't change a thing. the only problem is my childhood was so spoiled that I thought a 10 win season and only one playoff win was a bad season. Imagine that!?

My redskins streak can be traced back to the early 1400's....Kidding
More circa 1971...
My dad is a redskinaholic and I have baby pics of me at the stadium etc. I even have a pic of me, my dad and Coach Pardee.
I have been solid skins fan since I can remember.
I guess that would make it 33 years and counting

Exactly the same as me. John Riggins takes it to the house on 4 and 1 and I was a Redskin for life.. I was 13 years and 1 month old. That puts me at 22 years roughly. I fell out of love with the game with the advent of FA as we know it, but never the Skins.
Till I die.
1991 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Great Game!

That was my first game, too.
I have only missed a couple of games since the 80's, all because of having to work

Ok you opened a can of worms Car Mike :)
First of all Congratulations! That is a commendable streak and its a shame the Redskins org, can't do something for such loyalty (maybe take 50% off your season ticket, if you have one).
I don't like to mention it anymore, (how Long) because a legend is back at coaching and every time I mention it now, I feel guilty of robbing the later day fans of their moment, because I have seen "the pass" "the run" and "team" that won those three SB's. I have also seen "the arm" "the MLB" "the best slot receiver ever" and I walked on the very grass, next to Larry Brown, Sonny Jurgenson ,Charley Harraway and Charley Taylor walked (I mean literally stanging next to them after a game, as they headed to the lockerroom). I was in the 9th grade and it was my third full season as a Redskin fan from the heart. Before 1966, I would watch them, but was just beginning to understand the game. In Washington, D. C. there was Boys Club ball in the inner-city, not Pop Warner. There was also D. C. Department of Recreation with low budgeted mix-matched unis' and I thought I would never see a real player anymore after being at RFK. that changed in 1969.
Instead on opening day of a game, in which I actually didn't play, because I hadn 't joined the team yet (I was voted the offenses' most MVP - at OG), A car pulled up and two men got out of the front and one stepped from the rear with what appeared to be his wife. As they approached our park's Head Coach,(Langdon Park, but the game was at Turkey Thickett Park, in Brookland (D.C.), an announcer started speaking and went to the center of the feild who it was, just then he caught my eye and I felt electrified! He walked right over to me with reporters all draped over him and writing his every word. I thought for a moment, this isn't Dr. King, who is it??? I have seen his face before, but who is it?
"Hi, what's your name young fellow?"
Nervous and drying out quick at the mouth, I squeeked out a few words, but did say "Kurt" rather surprising loud and clear!
"pleased to meet you and hope you like the game!"
"Thank you sir!"
I still didn't know his name, but then the announcer eventually stepped to the microphone and said in so many words, his pleasure to announce "former WASHINGTON REDSKINS GREAT, Mr. Bobby Mitchell!"
I freaked, OMG! he touched me, he spoke to me, he wished me well, I was ecstatic.
I want the guys to feel that NOW< but I want it to be their time. (tears). be back later.

I've been a Skins fan since the 72 season when they played the Dolphins in the Super Bowl (Bass' touchdown the strangest play in SB history). I was a fan of Billy Kilmer and despite minimal coverage of the Skins in Winnipeg I've been a die hard fan ever since. Have watched a lot of other sports but the Skins have always been the #1 team in the spectator sport I love the most.

I was born into a Skins family where everything centered around them. After church, we made sure we were home in time for the game. Every TV in the house had the game on. I can't pinpoint the date but my first game was in the early 70's.

Wow, I hope you got out of there before '79!
I was born in '64 and don't remember Lombardi coaching, but I do remember George Allens over the hill gang march to the Super Bowl very well. I had two older brothers who instilled the tradition of the B&G in me at a young, impressionable age. I am still grateful to both of them for it.
The first game I attended was in 1978, a 16-0 loss to the Miami Dolphins...

I'm 38. I have vague memories of the excitement in '72. I went to my first game in 1979 vs. the Bengals. Ken Anderson at QB. I'll never forget my impression of the stadium when I first walked through the portal. How green the field was....the vibrant colors with the sting of the cold winter air just beginning to be felt. I remember walking up that long narrow road from the lower lot...what a spectacle that was...all the tailgaters and all. What a memory.
I really started to pay real close attention in 1980 and was at the victory parade that rainy February day in 1983. The Gibbs era was my high school and college days...it couldn't have been better. If I could personally thank all those players and coaches for the memories, I would in a second.

Was 6 years old when I was at my Uncle's house for Skins vs Dolphins SB in '82(?). I grew up in a non-foolball house so that game was my first football rooting experience, and I'm embarrased to say I was rooting for the Dolplins. I don't remember a single thing from that game so I guess maybe my brain somehow knew that I would be a Skins fan someday. I became a Skins fan in '86, I think they lost to the SB champ Giants in the playoffs that year? The next year "the quarter" really hooked me for life. '91 was great. Missed many Redskin games in the 90's living in central PA Eagles country, but have always remained loyal and grew an intense hatred for the Eagles. 2000 I got Sunday ticket. Have missed 1 game in 4 years. Attended my first ever games in '04, preseason vs Falcons and first real game vs hated Eagles. We almost had that one DAMN! Will try for at least 1 game per year till I get season tickets. 6 year old son sees and is around mobs of Eagles fans daily and thinks he wants to turn green. NOT IN MY HOUSE! Hail
Skins fan 19 years + forever
