Even though the Nationals lost yesterday to the potent Cardinal, 9-7, the offense of this team has shown the potential to score a lot of runs, and come back from big deficits. Impressive yesterday, smacking out 15 hits. Even more encouraing was newly acquired starter Esteban Loaiza, pitching 4 innings, giving up one run on 7 hits. Great performance. Now, after Loaiza left, the Cardinals smacked the bullpen for an 8 run fifth, taking the lead 9-3. BUT, the Nats offense did respond the rest of the way, but falling short, 9-7.
Hiow abotu Rule 5 Draftee, 3B Tony Blanco. Blanco was 3-4 with 3 runs batted in yesterday. Blanco is having a good spring and is making a case to be on the Openig Day roster. So far this Spring, Blanco is hitting .444 with 3 runs batte din.

Dude's moving to beat of different drum. Nothing phases him. I believe he was on that minors list I had a month ago. Anyway, I believe he'll be playing in RFK. God, I am going to be SOOOO nervous when I go back to DC to watch them play there. I was going to my sophomore year in High School, when I saw them play their last game at RFK. It is also the neighboorhood I hung out in (Eastern AV to 12th and Constitution, to Potomac Gardens, 15th and Independence, all of Pennsylvannia from Anacostia to the Capitol), when I left home at 15. Funny I still got into college the same time as the class I would have graduated with in McKinley Tech (in N.E.).
Digital camera, plenty of food money and some tissue for tears (reliving all those days from 1966-1986) Nats and Skins, after that I was only around in the summer for a few more years, before coming to INDY in 1992 from the Boston area. Man I miss that stadium!
