it's very cloudy...i seee....improvement
i'm gonna say 9-7 with a chance at the post season.
even though we've played crappy against the cowboys the last few years...this will be the year that changes. i also predict we'll sneak away with one from the iggles. looking at the rest of our scheduled opponents -- i fear kc, seattle, and believe it or not chicago (they could be much better this year). we could turn a few heads in the other games

I need to see the schedule before I can be specific but I'm guessing 10-6.

I will say we will be 8-8 +/- 1 game.
Schedule won't matter we have to play our NFC east pals 2 x's, and an AFC division which even w/ a poor record those teams are very competitive. It will be tough.
We will have to see how the roster shapes up and what injuries we're hit with. Any major injuries to the O line like last season and flush it down the toilet. The offense is very fragile buit improved w/ Ramsey. Even a lackluster passing game from Ramsey will suffice if we can get Portis going this year. Portis' ypc will be key,

I think what he means is how the schedule lays out. I think 10-6 but I am overly optimistic as usual.

Thank you CNY, that is what I meant.
10-6 is realistic to me but to do that we need to be at least 4-2 in the division.

3-13
Taylor, Cooley, Arrington, Ramsey, and Moss all miss significant time.
(Hey, I haven't been right yet so...)

I think the Redskins will play 20 games next year. 16 regular season, with 8 at home and 8 on the road. 4 of the games will be pre-season and they will also be split equally between home and road games.

It depends on health. If the skins are healthy through the season, the 10-6 is possible/likely. If they get devestated by injuries, then 7-9 is more likely.
Here's what I think the difference between last year and this year will be:
Oline: Jansen and Rabach now playing
WR: Moss actually getting deep. Patten, the wily vet, producing at the Y or Z slot.
RB: POrtis will have more room to run thanks to both of the above.
Def: Despite losing Pierce and Smoot, the defense will be as good with Lavar coming back and any drafted improvements.
Its just gonna come down to health and injuries.

i see 9-6 at this point, i for one worry about our d. i think offenses will be prepared for our blitz schemes and take advantage of this. i also believe our offense will be improved to a point that teams will have to be agressive on offense against us.

11-5
We win the division for the first time in years by spliting with the Girls and Jints and sweeping Philthy.
Our strong play against the AFC continues.
ST will knock someone stone cold out during a game. LaVar will take that as a challenge and raise his level of play. Trent Green spends the KC game running for his life and we win. We play a statement game vs. the Raiders and send Norv back to Oakland walking bow-legged.
In the playoffs, we beat Philly in the first round to advance. Then we physically punish the Vikings, who have been soft ever since they stopped playing outdoors. We lose a close game in the NFC Championship, setting the table for consecutive Superbowl runs in '06 and '07.

At 11-5 in the NFC i think we would be in the divisional round so we only need two wins to get to the super bowl

The point people, is Im not predicting a damn thing other than we will play some games. We will win some and lose some. Im done doing "it" to myself every off-season. Predicting and expecting 10-6 or 11-5's only to be let down and frustrated by November.
I want to see us play a meaningful game in January. I have wanted it for 15 years and only seen it once in that time span. Every year during that time period I've made some proclamation about Playoffs and the overall greatness of the Skins only to wind up with Egg squarely on my face.
The Redskins have changed their approach to the off-season and so have I.
I will be at 9 games this year cheering my arse off, but I will not make anymore predictions. It's a tired exercise.

2005 Record: 10-6 (as per my annual prediction, but this time I really mean it!)
2005 Playoffs: Yes. Not only will we make the playoffs, we will win at least our first round game.

Just do like I do, Keino. 10-6 every year, making the playoffs as a wildcard. It's a no fuss, no muss prediction that feels good for at least 6 months ;)

It is way too early to be predicting this stuff but for your paper I would say 8-8 is realistic but no playoffs yet. we could push as high as 10 wins or as low as 6 losses again but I think it will be a struggle and depends on how ramsey plays.

I swore up and down that I would not make any official predictions untill late August. Partly because I'm a little gun-shy after predicting playoffs for the last 4 years. Sorry...it's just too early for me. All I can say is that I'm hoping (not predicting) for >3 division wins and a +.500 record, as all Redskins fans are.

I said 10-6 last year, and that we would lose in round 1 of the playoffs. I think I was 1 year premature with that prediction, so I will go with the same for this season.

Note that if this team had just scored 19 points per game, they would have been 12-4.
I truely believe with greg williams here and arrington and company coming back from injury that our Defense will be #1 in the league, not just the nfc.
with rabach and jansen playing this coming year, expect the quarterback (still questioning ramsey, hopefully he does improve, its make or break time!) to have more time in the pocket. I'd also expect gibbs to allow the shotgun on rare occasions. With "the toe" and "50/50" gone and going, and moss and patten entering, we have people who will and want to work and play smart.
With help from the draft we will not only be playing 100% this year, we're going to have to do a bit of triming after the draft.
over-all, good outlook on this season. 10-6 or 12-4, depending on if we can shut down porter/moss and edwards(they "are" going to draft him)/muhammad. Raiders and bears only 2 teams i am somewhat worried about harris in (if he starts). cant believe i just said the bears.....
we "will" have a wining season, we "will" make it to the post season. honestly i see us turning out like the steelers were last year. With a good QB coach and help for ramsey/brunell, i dont see us having a huge issue this year. even if they play only mediocre, we'll get it done on the backs of GW and portis.
i'd love to see gibbs on occasion go "out of character" and bring out a load of recivers just to make the other team think.
