View Full Version : Redskins vs a Female (or Male)

Due to the movie, Fever Pitch, Dan Patrick is asking the questions "What woman (or man for the HR ladies) would you choose over your favorite team (in our case the Redskins)"?
For me, maybe it is because I am married and Maureen respects the insanity, but I say NONE. I can not imagine one woman (assuming I was single) that could get me to foresake my beloved Redskins... but I thought this might generate some interesting responses.
This is kind of question I always respond to with the same answer. Since it will never happen (I mean, a beautiful woman will never show up and say to me: "Give up tha redskins and I'm yours"), it's impossible to answer. But for the sake of argument, I would have to say NO. When I started dating my girlfriend (who I now live with) and I noticed it was going to get serious, I told her right off the bat that come September, straight through December, I would not exist on Sunday afternoons and a few Monday nights. She understood. That's one of the reasons why I love her.

It would have to be a new woman every year or so because the only thing that doesn't get old is my love for the Skins.

The girl knows I'm serious fan and she's cool with that. She bought me a Ramsey jersey last year for my birthday, so she's only fueling the fire. Knowing that I have a beautiful girl and she's fine with me obsessing over the skins, I can't really make a choice because either way it's worse than what I've got now.

i'll go with IB's answer, i dunno if any woman can pry me away from the skins. i dont see any reason why they would try to anyways, except my abscence during the season.

I don't see any woman getting between me and my Redskins. I can't imagine life without the Redskins. But, I've yet to meet Salma Hayek..... :D

This one is easy........ If I could have the girl of my dreams ( name not included to protect me) and she told me to give up my redskins.........The only way I would agree is if I can go fishing every Sunday and some Monday nights from September through January!
:devil2: I didn't say she had to be smart!

No, no... that isn't the point. Say some drop dead gorgeous gal wants you to go shopping for antiques or yard work or ANYTHING other than sit and watch the Redskins? What is she doesn't want you to spend money on season tickets (if applicable) because she wants to go on a cruise.
You know the type... always looking to change their significant other.

That movie is hilarous. No woman would ever come between me and my Skins. She would have to know off the bat that I am a diehard and will not do any of that fru-fru stuff come sunday. But I do think that the movie would have been better if it involved the Skins instead of the sox cause our fans are cooler.

Fent....of all of the people in DC, you just HAPPEN to pick out the eagles fan... :shakes head:...so dissapointed in you!! :gwink: just kidding babe
See most guys I know LOVE the fact that I love football so much. Skins... well they would rather me choose a different team, but thats neither here nor there. My guy is a browns fan, and not really into football. I don't think I'd be able to choose him over the skins. (Wow... I'm a really bad girlfriend...)

The only way a woman can pry me away from the set is with the stipulation that the activity replacing the game be worth it TO ME.
With that said, the thought of doing something I would consider worth it with Halle, Elizabeth Hurley or Tyra Banks would make me flick off the set without a second thought.
That's why they invented TIVO.....

I think it would be funny in the fact that no matter what move gets made or what happens to the team, the entire fan base still believes they will win the Super Bowl in the upcoming season. That is what I love about Skins fans.

Maybe if they did a movie on the "loser Redskins" we would turn it around....
Major League - Indians hit a good period
Fever Pitch - Had to reshoot the ending b/c the Sox won
Little Giants - Giants go to SB
Mighty Ducks - Jean Sebastian Gigueire leads team through playoffs
Any others?
Why didn't The Replacements use the real NFL teams? It would have been my favorite movie all time if it did.

Considering my finace is a die-hard Redskins fan I struck gold! She was at every game with me last season and has a matching #56 jersey. We are hoping that the day after we get married (Oct. 22) is a home game so we can go to the game THEN head to our honeymoon. How great is that?!?!

I actually had a girl friend break up with me for watching the Skins instead of taking her out on a Sunday. She wanted to visit me on a Sunday when the Skins were playing and got really angry with me when I said the game was on at 1 so between 1-4 I'd be watching the game.

What man would have even had a second date, had they not liked football? Hubbo is a Bills fan, but that was fine with me, different divisions and all...fortunately for us we were already happily married when that Super Bowl rollled around...'course I often wonder what would have happened had the Bills won......

i would consider giving up the skins only if the chick was Mystique from the x-men and could change into any girl I wanted anytime I wanted. since that won't happen there is no woman i would choose over the redskins and if i already had one and she told me to give them up, I would show her the door
