I usually only play sports games and the GTAs but I decided to shake things up a bit and bought the God of War. I saw the review for it on an internet gaming site and they were all about it. At first I wasn't crazy about the game because I didn't know how to play but now I'm really enjoying it. Has anbody else played this game or heard of it.

I've heard of it, tb. I think it looks pretty cool, and seems pretty fun to play. Is it buy worthy?

it is a cool game, lots of blood, nudity, greek mythology etc... i bought the game and i'm a pretty good ways into it, i have no idea how much longer i have to go, i'm fairly cetain its is a long way. as far as if it buy worthy, i guess that depends on how much time you can put in the game. i might be able to beat this game within 7 days (normal rental period), then again i'm also playing it on the easy level. its alot fun though and thats coming from someone who really isn't in to these types of games

TB, I bought this game for the same reasons you did and I felt kind of the same way about it. At first, I didn't see the appeal. It was just ok. THEN... I got into the game and I couldn't put it down. It's amazing the things you pull off in this game and I love the story line too. But then Splinter cell chaos theory came out and me and my boys haven't stopped playing that online yet.

I definitely recommend the game if you like action titles reminiscent of the old double dragon.

yeah the more i play the more i like it. i think i should have rented this game though because i believe the end is near already and I've only be playing for 2 days. hopefully i'll run into some problems and give up for a while so by the time I start again it will be way past the due date if I rented it.

That is what I fear when I buy fighting/shoot em up types of games. I always get hooked then I have beaten it before I know it. It was like that with the Metal Gear Solid series...I love them but I beat them too quick...even on the hard levels.

Also, I've been told that if you like the Devil May Cry series you will love God of War.

yeah I beat it earlier and now I have a 50 dollar game that may gather dust. (i just bought it saturday and started getting addicted to it sunday night) for now on its rent fighting/shoot games, buy sports games. I'll have to look into that Devil May Cry series.

beat the game and you unlock this other mode. Challenge of the gods I think it is. Beat that and you get these special outfits that make you more powerful. That makes it easier to beat it in god mode. I haven't been the game and done any of that stuff but it's supposed to add replay value. I spend to much time playing splinter cell chaos theory on xbox live.

you have two different blades that you can level up and 3 or 4 different types of magics to level up as well. You also get health and magic bar increases as well.

Well, it's an awesome game... if you are into action games. The graphics are phenomenal as well... it has a hi-def mode that is just sweet. The gameplay is intense, once you get the hang of it. Plus, the way it allows you to finish certain opponents can be really satisfying. For example, blowing a harpy out of the air with a machine gun is cool, but grabbing one out of the sky, tearing it's wings off and spitting down it's broken soul is intensely more cool. See what I mean? That plus the intensely cool "parrappattack" sequences make this game stand out.

It is relatively short, but that is what the harder modes are for... I guess I'd say give it a rent, and if you find it addicting, pick it up.

Great game with great graphics.

I'm currently on the desert part where you have to kill the 3 singing maidens.

SIRENS! That part was kind of a bugger, what with the lack of helath chests and stuff. Plus, running around in that sand got kinda dizzying after a while.

Yeah, another game I haven't played in a long time.

I'm currently hooked on Metal Gear Solid 2. Sons of Liberty. I didn't buy 3 because I'm new to the series and wanted to play this one first. It's kind of hard, though. Any general advice?

God of War is seriously one of the best games I have ever played. Certainly the best console game I have played since the N64 days.

It's probably one of the best, if not the best, action game ever..the only problem is that, like all action games, once you finish it it has no replay value whatsoever..so my advice is to go out, rent it, have a blast, and return it once you're done...

This is supposed to be a trailer that hasn't been released to the public yet for God of War 2.

Apparently they aren't going to wait to release the sequel on the PS3. This is supposed to come out on the PS2

I bought GoW just a few days ago and although it looks stunning on the PS2 it just didn't grab me like I thought it would. I got through the first boss and a little bit further but already the game play was amazingly redundant.

I was more than a little bit dissapointed but after reading what you guys wrote maybe I'll give it a second chance. I'm not too worried about it though since now its only 20 bucks.

I waited until it went platinum and bought it for 17 euros. At this price, it is a blast!
