We NEED to stop this 5 game skid TONIGHT! We're at home against a pretty bad team. And we finally need to get over the 41 win mark!!

I think we win this one by 27 points... Yes, 27. Gilbert gets just 18 points, but 11 assists. Larry ends up with 30, Jamison with 19. PJR comes into the game at the end and knocks down a couple jumpers for 4 points and 3 rebounds.

Final Score:
Milwaukee - 84
Washington - 111

Wiz, please win tonight, our sanity is really beginning to slip.

After one, we're up by 5... Gilbert has ZERO points

Damn Larry looks like he's gonna end up with a triple-double... So far with 5 mins left in the second, he has 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.

And Gilbert still scoreless

Gil has 6 assists so far though, this is good we have plenty of guys who can score, if Gil piles up the assists then we are playing good basketball.

Jeez Gil finishes the half scoreless on only two shots but with 6 assists and we have 11 from Larry, 12 from Etan, 16 from Antawn, and 12 from Kwame!

To those of you who are actually watching the game, does it seem like we are diliberately running our offense much differently because Gil isn't dropping all the buckets like usual but on paper it looks like an incredibly productive first half on offense.

Gilbert is making a concerted effort to get his teammates shots through the offense tonight...he's not looking for his shot and its paying off so far. Kwame looks great though

BTW--I'm liking Michael Ruffin more and more every time I see him play. The man is the definition of hustle.

I am happy that Gilbert is making sure others are involved early. It will make it easier for him to take over the game in the 4th if the opponets have to actually defend the other players.

I would just be happy with a win....

Ruffin is the MVP of this team...Hustle wise

Go Gilbert Go!!!

I love the effort but the most recent attempt at a bounce pass from half court exemplifies the need for the Zards to develop a more patient and efficient offensive theory.

I believe their defense would be a lot better if they played smarter offense and just picked up the intensity on the defensive end.

Ok, the streak is over, we won. Hopefully we can put together a little winning streak now b/c the playoffs are near.

No one's arguing with Jim anymore...thats done and dealt with...like Jim said earlier I'm just happy with a win....I could care less if Gil scored 2 as long as we get the win...Good win guys...lets beat Chicago on wednesday!!!! That's a big game...we have to have good shot selection against them cause their defense is stifling.

Even a broken watch is right twice a day so I take no credit, but it was nice to see a team effort.

Seriously....It was really nice to see everyone involved. I do not think Arenas has to defer from shooting as much as he did last night, but I do think a sensible goal for Arenas (or any point guard) should start with 10 assists. If Arenas averaged 20 to 25 points and 10 assists our record would look even better than it does right now.

Gilbert dishing the rock first helps us two ways:

1. Higher percentage shots - If he is dishing the rock chances are the guys he is dishing it to are closer to the basket which ups the odds of scoring.

2. More people the opponets have to defend - If you get everyone involved early then the opponet has to defend the entire floor thus making it easier for Hughes and Arenas to take over if the opportunity presents itself.

The Wizards could very well be playing their biggest game of the season against the Bulls tomorrow. They need to make a statement to the Bulls who seemed to pull away from the Wizards of late. The Bulls are good and they are deep. The Wizards are just as good and just as deep as the Bulls but we seem to only want to rely upon 3 guys. We will win if we utilize the talents of all our players.

I cannot guarantee that the Wizards will win out if they play the way they played yesterday (the Bucks suck and we know it) but I can guarantee you that they stand a much better chance of winning by involving the entire team early and often. The shot percentages go up, the hustle goes up and the level of effort on defense goes up. Have you ever played pickup ball and no one pass you the rock? It is human nature to start watching the game after a while.

The Wizards played team ball last night and their ONLY CHANCE in the playoffs is repeating their performance from last night with a higher intensity level for the rest of the season and the playoffs.

I doubt if we will see that happen again from Gilbert for a while...because according to the paper...he was pulling a boycott of shooting stunt again...I don't know what set him off this time..but he was quoted in the paper as saying "I'm not Steve Nash and I never will be"...but hopefully he will at least average 7 assists from here on out. I wasn't aware that he didnt attempt a shot in the 2nd and 3rd quarters...but I like how they got Kwame some good looks...and Kwame looked good last night...now some consistency will do.

PS...1 more win for us and we clinched a playoff spot!...hopefully we won't get embarrased in the playoffs.

I said that in the other thread about Nash (and Kidd.)

He does not get it yet and it is a maturity thing.

It's the same thing that a lot of good point guards have to learn. As a point guard you are the pulse of a team. You can speed up the pulse and you can slow it down.

As point guards mature they realize that the easiest way to increase the pulse is to get the legs and arms going (the other players) so that the heart gets the message that its time to work.

The immature point guard believes he does not need the arms and legs so he tries to do everything on his own and causes the whole body to collapse in a heap. The youngster does not realize that the head cannot survive with the body.

No one wants him to be Steve Nash. I just want him to be smart enough to realize that you cannot beat anyone when you play 3 (Arenas, Hughes, Jamison) versus another team. Gilbert has more talent than Nash when he is sound asleep so I want him to be Gilbert, but I him to grow up and lead this team.

great game, our bigs look better when they catch and shoot, instead of them trying to dribble. usually when our bigs have to post up, it usually results in a turnover, but when they get balls on cuts and bounce passes they seem to do well. we came out like a total different team offensively. defensively, i dont think our d was as bad as it seems(112 pts given up) but we still need improvements. milwaukee made some tough contested shots though
