What: Round 1, Game 1 - Washington vs. Chicago
Where: Chicago
When: Sunday, 5:30 PM
TV: TNT

Here it is folks! THE PLAYOFFS for the first time in EIGHT YEARS! And it just happens to be against our rivals. Game one is in Chicago. This is obviously a HUGE game. Not just cuz its the playoffs, but it's on the road. If we win this one, it will give us a lot of momentum.

I think we will win it by 7. Gilbert will KILL Kirk Hinrich and put up 34 points. Larry gets 24. Antawn gets injured in the second, but fortunately comes back and plays well. He gets 23 points, 19 in the second half.

Final Score:
Washington - 104
Chicago - 97

LET'S GO!!!

Yeah, I think this is gonna go down to 7 games. I'm hoping the Wizards will pull it out but this series looks like a toss-up. These two teams are going to be rivals for years, they are both young, up and coming teams with already some bad blood between them. they fought during a game earlier this season, i can't wait for this series to begin!

Kwame is playing really well at attacking the rim. I think he needs to do more on the boards though. After the 1st Quarter the Bulls are +8 on the boards aganist us.

Ben Gordon is WET.

we really need to put the clamps on ben gordon. gil is struggling, but kwame is really assurting himself today against the bulls. i think its a personal thing with him and tyson chandler.

Gordon is a sick scorer....

Kwame is throwing down today. They need to keep feeding Kwame the rock. no one can stay in front of him (too quick).

Haywood and Kwame are playing great. Hughes is hot, and we are in the game without anything from Gilbert.

Kwame hasn't played with this much aggression since his senior year of high school.

I hate Chris Duhon. Apparently like most players at Duke, he has learned the skills of:
1. Taking Threes.
2. Taking Charges (flopping).

For just being, there is a distinction between "the taken one of loads" and flopping. Poichè I cannot see that the game (no cable) I will not comment as far as which it has happened. The TAURUSES GO! GO BULLS!

ok,I have shifted gears from the draft to bball and although I predicted the wiz to win this series ....I have to admit......I'm a recovering Bulls fan....lol. I dont follow NBA like I do MLB, college basketball/football or the NFL but I started rooting for the bulls late 8O's early 90's and watched Micheal Jordan dominate. I really remember them winning me over in the playoffs against the celts where all they had was Mike and he had that game where he dropped like 63 or 64....and still lost, that was sick. I also hated the lakers and "showtime", so the bulls being underdogs in the NBA around that time were naturally my favorites. But to be honest with you since Jordan left and the bulls crumbled I only watch NBA playoff bball. I consider myself a casual fan of the NBA and the bulls, not the fanatic I am about the skins, pack and braves. But if eddie curry were healthy it would be lights out wiz...... :devil2: .

Antawn and Gil is stinkin it up...they need better showings in the second half...I'm lovin Kwame and Larry today though...that dunk Kwame did was just sick.

Kwame hasn't shown that much aggression since a kid took his lego blocks in preschool. I love the fact that they got him involved early and often. Now when Gilbert and Jamison heat up to go with Hughes and Kwame we should be able to muscle this game away from the Bulls.

We are learning that lesson in defense and shot selection.

The Bulls are turning up the D and we will have to see what the Zards do to respond.

We should go inside since all of their big men have at least 4 fouls.

I've played about as much defense for the Wizards this season as Jamison has.

Why is Gilbert being so friggin selfish. 3 for 17, pass the ball and stop shooting Gilbert!

Jimreaper007
04-24-2005, 07:11 PM
This game goes back to a basic engineering principle...

Nothing performs well under pressure except maybe a pressure cooker. The Bulls turned up the defense and the Zards had no answer.

Once they turned up the D our shot selection went to hell and Arenas was visibly shaken and could not do anything with the ball.

Remember that DEFENSE issue we had all season?

Now is where it hurts

game over. we lose. :banghead:

good lord, what was wrong with arenas tonight? he was forcing bad shots left and right. i know that he was trying to draw fouls but why didnt he realize that the refs werent calling them. very frustrating.....

IndianBaller27
04-24-2005, 07:30 PM
mother effing refs at the very end didn't wanna call anything for us. Earlier they were calling everything for us, and nothing for them. But at the end, they lost their wistles. And GILBERT DID NOTHING!!! :(

Jimreaper007
04-24-2005, 07:51 PM
Arenas is entitled to a bad night although I'd much prefer those not be in the playoffs. I credit Gilbert with getting others involved early. Kwame can be particularly effective if they feed him the rock. At a minimum he gets to the line but I would like to see him finish some of those plays with points.

Jamison was not very impressive this game either, but the bigger problem was his lack of defense. Jamison is going to have to turn it up a notch and keep it up. So is Jefferies.

What happened to Ruffin? He could have neutralized #5 for the Bulls had he played today. Overall it came down to the pressure that caused the wizards to collapse like Old ladies in heat. The good news is we can beat the bulls if Gilbert and Jamison wake up. The bad news is that Miami is all about pressure and if the wiz fainted from the Bulls version of pressure...Miami is going to KO them quicker than Tyson in his prime.
