Plain and simple guys. If the skins have the chance at M Williams, it should take about 4 seconds for the skins to make the selection. Fabian and Marlin will be there at 25. It has to go this way. To impact players and the #1 rated player(according to Mel Kiper) on our team. Please help me guys because I am allready hyperventalating thinking about Williams on our team, along with a quality cornerback. Both cornerbacks are solid. I can't wait......I just cannot wait....Please take M. Williams if he is there. Is anyone else this excited, or is it just me. Please guys help out.

I agree and have been preaching this for some time. I never want another Redskins named Heath. EVER!
The only thing is that if BOTH Williamson and Williams are there, I'd take the fll 15 minutes and take trade offers (if there are any). We could move back and regain a 2006 pick.

Williams and Jackson or Washington. Oh man...what a freaking draft that would be. My favorite outcome by far.

How many people here have actually seen Fabian Washington play football?
Just curious...

Would you rather have M williams or trade and obtain that pick next year. I think that he is too good to pass up. Simply too good. I agree with you that it is important and it did cost us dearly to get that 25th pick. However, unless I am floored with a deal, I would still take this guy because he is special and could be the difference for the offense.

I have. My friend goes to Nebraska and I actually visited him and got to watch one of there football games. In honesty though, he didn't excite me at all when he was playing. I watched some of the Neb. games too. I also have NFL network and have seen a bunch on him. I think he's a good pick up that late, even though Nebraska's secondary got burned every game. Lot's of potential. I would rather have Marlin Jackson though.

And anyways, with that kind of pick you're going more for potential. If we wanted a stellar cb, we'd pick him with ninth and not go after MW if this scenario panned out. Oh yeah...the local guy from Howard...I wouldn't mind looking into him either. Another guy with lots of potential.

Totally agree, Mike Williams would be the steal of the draft at #9. At 25, I don't care what we take CB, DE, or QB, would all be fine.

i think if williams is there at nine we wont even consider a trade down or using our whole 15 mins tagliabue can sprint to the podium if hews not their we take a corner then heath miller or matt jones at 25 or maybe even pollack. we will look at marlin jackson or washington if we take a reciever at 9

if we get MW that will be awesome, but i would definately pass on marlin jackson, hes slow and not very good, i would prefer fabian or even justin miller over marlin jackson

Thanks for the response.
The reason I ask...is because a lot of opinions are formed on players due to watching their "highlight reel" on NFL Network or on the web, instead of forming opinions from watching them in actual games.

nebraska had the 8th worst pass defense in NCAA football... fabian is a typical workout guy - he ran fast and now is a first round pick. like pat kirwan wrote, "i didn't realize that they are running track meets at halftime"...

i have not even even seen a highlight reel. all i know is he clocked some of the fastest 40 times since deion sanders so i figure with kind of speed, our coaches can teach technique. at the combine he did 4.29 and 4.31 in the 40, and had a 41½-inch vertical jump. at 5'-10 and 188, he's not too small. if you cant touch the receivers, you better be fast. they say he came out early for the draft because his family needs money, not because he wants to buy a new Bentley or whatever like Edwards. so he sounds like a good character guy.
and last but not least, he reminds me of Darrel Green with that speed.

I'm not that big a fan of Fabian, he doesn't have the game tape to justify a first round selection. However, I do like the CB talent at 25 a lot more than the WR talent. I would be pretty happy w/ MW/Williamson and Marlin Jackson. Although the perfect draft would have to be MW and a trade for Clements.

LOL! I'm not a good judge. I haven't see 90% of these guys. I watched a couple miami and usc games... other than that... eh. college football is boring (to me).

Highlight reels are USELESS. I read that Washington made a lot of plays, and while I'd rather have Pac Man or Rogers, I don't like the receivers @ 25 at alll. Not Heath, not Jones, not White. BELCH.
Mike Williams instantly improves this offense. A CB could theoretically be #4 on the depth chart... take the WR.

What if we were to draft Williams and then trade our number 25 pick to buffalo to get their CB Clements, he has played under GW and is still young and a good corner that has already proven himself, takes over as starter and Harris is now our nickel back like last year. what do you think about that?

Would take em..but he'll probably not get picked until late 2nd or early third....that doesn't help us....if he drops to the fourth I'd take em...

My Oliver Stone theory:
The Danny-Bradway soap opera, Part III.
A ton of mock drafts had the Jets drafting Heath Miller at 26. The Redskins trade for 25. The next day the Jets deal 26 for....a TE (Jolley) and say he was better than any TE they saw in the draft -- basically giving up the fact that they indeed would have probably taken a TE at 26 (Miller). So the Redskins and/or a potential trading partner correctly guessed on which side of 26 they would need to be on to get Miller. The teams directly in front of 25 probably don't go TE: Dallas has Witten, B-More has Heap, GB has Franks, Seattle doesn't really need a TE. Jacksonville's the only team that is a possibility. So the question is: Who really, really wants Heath at 25? Maybe the Redskins, but I think its the Bears. We go to 4 to get Williams -- bringing Joe his clone of James Arthur Monk and Danny the biggest name and most marketable player in the draft.

go skins36...that is the absolute best possible cenario that could play out for us. If that happens there will be a naked man running through the toronto area sometime on saturday. That would be the best draft possiblew for the skins. HUGE!!!

Williams and Miller would completely transform the offense, but I dont think Minnesota lets Williams get past them

Minessota is going to draft Williamson, and if you think about it that is the right selection. On that carpet in the metrodome, he well be unreal with that speed and those hands. Willaims is great, however he does lack burner speed and if they really want to replace Moss, Williamson is the pick. This might be wishful thinking, however the draft special yesterday on espn, had them going Williamson and I think that is what they are going to do.

i read an article saying that he is the most over rated corner coming into this draft, they said he was nothing til the combine and this is true he really wasnt, i am a big michigan fan so i keep up with other big 10 schools and this guy isnt anything i would want with the 25 pick

I disagree. Clements is in the last yr of his contract and is going to look for his payday after next season ala Fred Smoot. He is a damn good player though.

Take Mike Williams with the 9th pick and forget about Washington and Jackson. Go with Justin Miller from Clemson who is faster than Jackson and better in run support than Fabian.

i think that we may even go DE w/that 25 pick if miller is gone and we have already selected a corner.

I think Williams will be wearing purple....if not I hope we get him....best case cenerio would be to snag Pac Man as CB needs the most help.....but I agree we can't pass up MW

Totally agree, Mike Williams would be the steal of the draft at #9. At 25, I don't care what we take CB, DE, or QB, would all be fine. You have to take an "IMPACT" player with the #9 pick or trade down and recoup some draft picks as this is a deep draft for the Redskins needs at CB, DE & WR.
