According to the Post's infallable Jason La Canfora, it's going to be a wild -- and possbily very shortlived -- first day of the NFL draft for Redskins fans:

I think that packaging our bouth 1st rounders would be just wrong... 8 more hours... hopefully we'll have 2 players after the 1st round, and none of them a QB :)

If we packaged both of our 1st rounders to move up to grb a Michigan WR... man, It'd be like deja vu all over again.

The worst thing that could happen IMO is drafting a QB

personally I think Braylon Edwards will end up having some personality issues. He is already starting a modeling career just days before the draft and considering other careers. That doesn't sound very focused on the eve of the most important day of his life.

He thinks a LOT of himself. Thats different than just being confident. Who does that remind you of???Bigger than the game type of player???Look at me because I'm so important!

He certainly doesn't sound like a Joe Gibbs type player. Does he?

there is the understatement of the year....

this guy allready has said:
1. he is the best player talent and skill wise in the draft.
2. he should be the 1st round pick, has more value then anyone else.
3. his focus is on "how sexy he thinks he is" i.e. the modeling joke...i hope it's a joke
4. hasnt even been selected yet and his worry is allready on geting that 100k+ car to fit his ego...
5...you get the point.

this is why i havent believed any of this trade up hype, unless it is to get alex smith...which is an extremely long shot and the 49ers dont have a choice but to take him. so i dont think either is on gibbs mind.

If we trade up both first rounders (a total of five actual picks) for Braylon Edwards, it will be the most disappointing thing in a very long time as a Redskin fan and for the first time, woudl really place doubt and make me questions the Gibbs front office.

This is not an understatement.
It would rank up there with the Herschel Walker trade.

Desmond Howard - the #4 pick in 1992. Total bust for the Redskins. Do you think Gibbs will tempt fate again?

No, he'll give the pick to Gregg Williams as he did last year.

They will move to the player of need or best available as they have said. Trading down to get more choices and cheaper ones. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

The FO has totally confused everyone but will stay in the positions they need:

CB
WR
TE
DE

I hope we draft Williams or Williamson with our 9th and the best available CB or DE with our 25th.

Coach:
Do not trade up please !!!!

This has to be nonsense..I can't imagine us trading up for anybody in this draft...in my opinion there is no one worth trading up for ...The draft is extremely low on superstars but great on potential stars. We need more lower picks not just one pick.Gibbs is NOT that stupid..........again.

I saw that last night too. That was absurd. The last thing we need is another pre-madonna on this team. Also, I really don't see us trading away 5 picks and relying on 1 to do the work of those 5. It makes little to no sense especially with our need for youth at the CB position.

Agreed, I can't possibly imagine what this trade might be like if we do it. I'll be sick to my stomach.

and how are we gonna coem to terms with Edwards when we can not even come to terms with Moss?

How do you really feel? LOL!

But I'm with you, if we give up 5 picks for one player we deserve the criticism.

Easy, if they make that move, watch the concessions at Fedex instantly raise prices for the draft party.

The Front Office HAS to be asking these questions, and realize the problems that would ensue. I really don't see this happening, and I think around 1pm we'll all breath a sigh of relief when we address our defense with the #9 pick.

I personally think Edwards is a head case and hold out in the waiting. Folks we already have one head case on defense, lets not add another on offense.

I have been 100% behind Coach Gibbs in every way... but I also must concur that to trade up at all looks to be a big mistake to me. Big.

just recently i've been really intrigued with the possibilty of trading up to add edwards or williams, but with the uncertainty of moss' contract, i'd still rather trade down or pick the best available corner at 9(or williams if he's available).

I too have backed and supported Gibbs all along, but if we give up 3 firsts, a fourth, and a third for a Michigan wideout who has an ego the size of Jupiter, than I'll have to jump on the Gibbs bashing bandwagon myself. I doubt this will happen. I hope we take Williams at #9 and Jackson at #25.

I saw a 4 part series on the NFL Network on Edwards. The guy looked REALLY good. I did get a weird Michael Westbrook vibe off of him though.

all i have to say is that if the skins do trade up (please dont do it!) than that tells me that gibbs may think that we are only one player away from being a serious contender this season. there is no other reason to waste some many picks one player when we have other holes that can be filled.

If we can use Gardner to move up to #7 to land MW, fine. But if we use the #25, #9 and Gardner to move up to #2, it will be the stupidist thing I ever heard.

Essentially they would have used a future #1, future #4, current #3 and a former #1 to move up 7 spots. We cant be thinking of doing that, can we?
