This is not a good draft at all!!! First we pass on Mike Williams to get Carlos Rogers. Rogers will be good but not worth passing on Mike Williams. Then we pick a QB after we state that Ramsey is our future?!?! WTF!!!! What gives?

that part I will never argue with.
I do have to admit, I just didn't figure on a QB at #25, but then what the hell do I know. I get to watch and if Patrick lets Campbell unseat him by out playing him and doing better, then Campbell deserves it as much as Pat took it from Brunell.
Now it is clearer why Musgrave is around. His work with Leftwitch was briliiant.

I can't argue there either but did Detroit need him? Look at their receivers now: Rogers, Roy and Mike Williams. Sometimes you need to throw caution to the wind to say this guy has tremendous ability and we're selecting him over our initial need. Besides, if we're drafting needs then why the hell do we draft a QB @ #25? We need a GM! We could have still gotten a decent CB w/the #25 pick and been alright. I'm not feeling good about this one at all.

Tonight I am ashamed too be part of this board.
No balance.
No objectivity.
No dignity.
No connection to the history of this team.
People are calling each other names, calling the best coach we ever had names, calling for his head after one season.
I suggest you go back and read about how George Allen took a perennial loser for 20 years and made them winners.
I suggest you go back and read about how Joe Gibbs harnessed a wayward team, gave it a gameplan and had one losing in twelve years.
We have one appearence in the playoffs in twelve years, at least I see a man who knows the way he wants to play and knows the kind of players he wants.
He is not a man who is afraid to face you and talk to you, yet you cannot even treat him with respct.
I have seen the words insanity, liar, idiot all attached to Joe Gibbs, he is none of these things. He may well be struggling to adapt to the new NFL but he is none of the above.

This is the best post I've read today, thank you for saying it.
I'm bummed out by this draft but we won't know how it really turned out until we see these guys on the field. If Jason Campbell turns into a Pro Bowler then many people will wish they had behaved with more class on this board and elsewhere with regards to our team.
I'm disappointed with our draft but I'm also disappointed to read a lot of the garbage I've seen posted here. We all need to detox because for the last several years our offseasons have convinced us we're Super Bowl contenders and we were dead wrong every time. So let's let these players try to get it done on the field and then see what happens. But some people here need to check themselves ASAP and tone it down because you're embarrassing yourselves.

If Jason Campbell becomes a Pro Bowler I'll eat a house. I've seen a few of his college games and even with Ronnie and Cadillac running it to take attention off his pass game he wasn't very good. Jason Campbell WORKED OUT WELL he didn't play any better than mediocre in college.

as a GM Gibbs and Co. made 1 bad move last year and several good to great moves.........the jury is still out on this years moves but the only move I really question is JC (lack of need and high price) ......but you gotta love those highlight reels.....what really impressed me was not just his arm strength but the accuracy he had with the long ball, great focous and touch

I remember starting a thread about the change to a focus on team. Our draft picks yesterday was another step in what I described as a weening off the big names process. Joe Gibbs went out yesterday and grabbed two really good, team oriented football players with the right attitudes.
We can argue until we are purple in the face, but everyone knows our QB situation is far from stable. Adding a kid with tons of talent and a great attitude is NEVER a bad thing. Joe gibbs rarely got the big names or popular picks during his first tenure, but everyone is pissing and moaning now that he is actually building the team the proven and effective way.
Even Bill Parcells had a couple of years when he tried to do it someone else's way, but you see that this year he is going back to a 3-4 defense and fired his Offensive Coordinator. Basically the good coaches are rediscovering what made them good coaches which in some cases is scheme (parcells) and in others it is surrounding yourself with quality people (Gibbs).
I can understand this grumbling from kids too young to remember what got us those 3 Lombardi trophies, but I cannot for the life of me understand us old school skins fans barking at these moves.

The offense will be better because the line will be better.
Ramsey will be better because the line will be better

thats why we got Rabach as soon as FA started, with him and Jansen back that will give Ram some breathing room to hit our new speedsters deep which will open the running game for CP...........which will improve the playcalling bigtime..............we still have Cooley, DMac, Thrash to go over the middle and I wouldn't doubt Gardner will be back for another year.........I know this is the crybaby thread but Gardner made some fine catches over the middle last year and he wasn't 50/50 either........one of our members was keeping track and it was more like 70/30.....anybody got those stats?

Axe, I understand you worries here on depth remember this is only draft day, we have the 2 T we drafted last year, that have had a year under Buges, friedman played well enough to be considered a back up Raymer will be gone most likely, and add in coach/player Brown in and I am not completely worried. We could possibly pick up a vet FA after June 1st. not all of our needs can be filled during the draft
