I don't know about you guys, but I can't see a better division than the NFC East. It was that way for years. I think this season the NFC East will be the most competitive it has been for a long time.
I believe OUR Redskins are much improved, but the same can be said about the Cowgirls with Newman and Parcells. The Eagles drafted defensive line help after losing Hugh Douglas. McNabb seems to be back at full-strength. The Giants have a young defense with Joseph and the secondary. Keith Hamilton should be back, too. They also didn't really lose anyone. Shockey helped Toomer and Hilliard and Barber have career years.
So I really think there's no better division in the NFL. That's the way it should be.
Here are two questions.
Who is the best offensive player in the NFC East?
Who is the best defensive player in the NFC East?

Nah, I still think the NFC East is not part of the strongest, but competitive wise, if the Redskins have a season I suspect they can, man the battle between Philly and Washington will make it one of the most competitive. Thing is, from year to year, no one really knows how to judge the Giants.
JoeDaSchmoe

I believe several things about the NFC East for this season:
1. The Giants will win it.
2. The Redskins and Eagles will both be above .500.
3. The Cowboys will not.
4. Two playoff teams will come from it.
There'll be a fight between Philly and Washington over a wild card spot, and it'll be close. Hopefully we'll eek it out.
Best division in football? No, that title could go to the AFC East, AFC West, or NFC South. Not us. Not yet anyway.
The best offensive player in the division is McNabb. The best defensive player is.... Hmmm... Well, I'd say it's a draw between Arrington, Strahan, and Dawkins. Bailey could be up there as well.
Oooooo

You guys really think the Gints are gonna win the division?
It took them career years from Tiki, Toomer, and Collins simultaneously just to get to the wild card round last season.
I am not sure I agree with that prediction.

I don't agree with the Giants winning it either. What Mark said about not knowing year end and year out what they will do pretty much sums up my thoughts in regards to them also.

Personally, I think that PHILLY is the team to beat this year. I think that they will have a huge chip on their shoulder for letting Tampa Bay come into their crib last year and "Pimp slap them into the fetal position". Second place is up for grabs, but I think that Dallas will finish last

I agree The Eagles are the team to beat but they can not keep getting raided during free agency and stay on top, but with McNabb there they will always be a threat to win hte division
McNabb....hopefully Ramsey nesxt season
I will go with Champ as defensive guy

I'm not sure about the Eagles. Teams will catch on to them. The Giants are hard to figure out. I don't think they're as good as the record indicated last season. I do believe we have a chance at a wildcard spot though.
Best offensive player McNabb, best defensive player ahhhh Arrington. Had to go with the home team.

the gap is closing for the eagles and even if they do win the nfc east again, we know that they wont be going to the superbowl!! chokers! until the eagles stop being cheap or hard headed or whatever it is that is stopping them from getting mcnabb some weapons, they will never be unbeatable. now that the gi-aints have fixed their special teams problems, i think they have the chance to overtake the eagles as nfc east champs. but like a few of you have stated, the giants are way too inconsistent, so we will see about that. the redskins are vastly improved and IMO have the chance to battle for a wildcard if all goes right. the cowboys are improved as well but i dont think parcells will be able to save them this year. overall, 3 outta 4 teams have gotten better and the division should be much more competitive than it has been for the last 2-3 years.

The "Gint's" win the division - barely - not by great team effort - but by sheer dumb luck!. The "Igles" burn up from lack of consistency- tho McNabb has a good year. The "Cowgirls" and the Tuna flounder along at the bottom - but beware - the Tuna learns quickly!
The Redskins finish 10 -6 grab a wildcard.
McNabb is a solid offensive player this year- bar injury - and LaVar lights it up under Coach Edwards improved defensive scheme.
My 2 cents!

Skins win the division in a close one with Philly and the Giants. Skins 10-6, Giants and Eagles both 9-7 and Cowboys 6-10 (and i'm being generous cuz of the D)
Just to be different, i'll say Tiki Barber is the best offensive player. Defensive player, Champ

I must say, this is the first prediction I agree with. I cant see the Giants being on top this year... luck had them where they were last year. I dont think Collins can carry that team to the top. The Eagles have lost a step and we gained... that makes for a big 1-2 battle, with the Giants rounding third and Dallas in the cellar.

The Eagles are still the team to beat in our division. I think with our schedule we will get a wild card slot and the Giants and Cowboys will miss the playoffs. Hopefully we can get some experince in the playoffs and really take off next year ot the Superbowl!

I just can't see the Eagles putting up a season similar to last year.
The main reason why they will NEVER go to (or win) a super bowl is because NcNabb has sub-par targets in Thrash, Pinkson and Freddie Mitchell. There is no way McNabb can continue putting that team on his back with those lackluster wide receivers. Defenses will catch on...and make them fold their hand.
Just imagine what McNabb could do if he had a TRUE #1 WR like a Coles, Boston, R. Smith, Price...etc.
And I also find it hard to believe their defense will continue to play at the same caliber as last year. Losing Douglas and Barber is HUGE...and I don't see their rookie DE making that much of an impact in his first year...especially when he has some MEAN NFC East Offensive tackels to deal with in Chris Samuels, Flozell Adams and Luke Petitgout. (assuming he starts at Right DE)

If anyone can make up for the loss of Hugh Douglas its the Eagles def cord. The man is good. You just got to give the team props. They have been to the NFC championship the last 2 years and have really not lost much on offense. I think the loss of Brian Mitchell will hurt them more then anyhting else though.

2nd -Eagles
3rd - Giants

Just a question or two for some of you....
First, why do you think last year's run for the Giants was luck? I mean, really, this year they'll actually have their #2 reciever, and Shockey opens up that offense so damn much it's ridiculous. Plus, they have the best back in the division, and an always tough defense. Doesn't seem like a fluke to me at all.
Now, as for McNabb's lack of recievers.... Yes, that's been touted as a major failing of the Eagles, but let's not forget the completely immobile and horribly named A.J. Feeley still lit things up last season, so much so that there were even some (rather stupid) rumblings of a quarterback controversy.

I went onto the Gints message board, and they are all talking about the Superbowl and going 16-0. They dont even consider the Skins as competition. 5-1 in the division they predict for the gints. I hope we crush the dirty nasty Gints.
Okay I perdict going 9-7. I'd rather be pestimistic than optimistic, given the past couple years. I also hope Lavar knocks Shockeys arrongant head off. ( damn i wish we had shockey.)

I don't know how any of you expect the Eagles to NOT win the division? Here we are, one of, if not THE best team in the league the past three years, as our record indicates. I love you redskin fans, but come on, the giants are gonna have their azzes handed to them like it was on Monday night last year when both teams were healthy. I have a lot of them comin over to our boards and takin smack, even though they only scored 10 points on our 3rd string, proving he could compete with the more healthy Giants.
The NFC East is still ours. You get that defense of yours to finally work, and then there will be some fightin
BTW that Ramsey kid is gonna be great for you all.

Of course the Giants and Eagles fans are discounting the Skins for 2003. Your owner has a knack for shopping at Nordstroms and buying the same stuff that he could get at Sears. While I like who you have brought-in this past offseason, you simply had too many holes to expect a complete turn-around this season.

I was at the Vet to watch the 2nd game between the Birdies and the Skins. It was fun to watch young Ramsey chew up that "talented" pass defense for 3 TD's. We were so far behind that all it did was make a game of it... but the joy of watching the idiots at the Vet suck in their breath for a second was priceless!
We have upgraded ALL of the key areas of our team... WR - Oline - RB - Safety... and the Eagles have done.... well.... nothing.

Actually... for Spurriers offense... I think we DID upgrade. Davis is a much better all around back then Trung... but as far as speed and catching out of the backfield, Trung is better. We will miss #48 for sure... the man is a machine... but he wasnt fitting into the offense. That is why I call this an upgrade.

Good point DJ. I think the Skins have a real shot at the division, b ut it wont be easy, not because there upgardes weren't that good. Thre is no doubt this team is betetr, but they also have a roguh schedule. That is what coudl be the stumbling block.
