View Full Version : CHAMP IN VEGAS!

Guys and Girls. I had one of the most shocking, heart palpitating experiences of my life out in Vegas (well a couple of these if you count OG :D ). I was exiting the Bellagio casino on Sunday down a corridor of shops when I suddenly spotted CHAMP BAILEY walking the other way with his girlfriend!!!!! I dove forward to catch my heart which had jumped 3 feet out from my body, then regrouped and hustled back and popped him on the shoulder. It was an out of body experience at this point. I said, "Your Champ Bailey, right?" He said yeah very subtlely. I mumbled words about being a huge fan. Incredibly, I was wearing my Washington Football Retro hat as I was gushing. That in and of itself is miraculous as I almost never wear hats at all. I asked if he'd pose for a pic with me and he agreed. I frantically looked for my friend to throw him my junkie $5 disposable camera. Champ's girlfriend actually offered to take it, but I was too wacked out and just made my friend do it. I started to put my arm on his shoulder (actually touching) then quickly jerked back after coming to my senses. He didn't seem to mind the touch and was cool as ice. Got the shot then turned and told him he was my favorite, he and Darrell Green, the cornerbacks. He acted very appreciative as he realized I was not crazy or going to hold him up forever. We shook hands and he smiled and casually continued on his way. I was in shock. I ran back to Harrahs and called my Mom at home to tell the tale. She yelled, "Are you kidding me?" Only she could appreciate my elation. My friend thought he was a work buddy even after the pic and my gushing. Champ's the man and a TRUE class act!! If the pic works, I'll post it. If I can figure that out.

Awesome! Truely awesome Hailyeah. You my friend are very lucky. Hail2Skins was in Vegas at the same time and all he saw was Troy Aikman and Jeff Garcia. LOL

You definately had the better encounter. Sorry H2S.

Let me get the jealousy out of the way: THAT SUCKS!!! IT'S NOT FAIR!!! DAMMITT!!!

Okay, not that that is out of the way, congrats dude! Sounds like Champ has a solid head upon his shoulders. There are many ways he could have reacted to you, and he reacted the most classy way I can think of.

Why can't I get lucky EVER? I have NEVER met a Redskin player before.

Uh oh, the jealousy appears to have reared his ugly head again.

Only she could appreciate my elation.

I bet I know a few other people who could

Maybe he will hit it big and not want a big contract when he comes back

That's Awesome !!!!

I think I would pass out if I saw an idol walking on the same ground as me. Especially when you don't expect it in a crowded place like a Vegas casino. Cool story for sure, I wish I had one of my own though.

Can't wait to see that pic........... Man you got to post it now.

I can relate, this sounds exactly like when I met Cal Ripken, I ran screaming like a school girl!
Got my signed hat sitting in a place of honor along with a picture of him signing it.

~Sigh~
We love Champ, you lucky dog!

You're lucky. As CarMike mentioned I ran into a 49er and a cowpoke. I wish I would have run into Champ but I was sitting in a cabana on the beach at Mandalay Bay on Sunday just before leaving.

Man you are lucky. So does he seem built or tall? Was his girlfriend hot? Like she would be otherwise hehe.

Congrats HY. The last time I was in Vegas I took a picture with Larry Allen. He was pretty cool and actually took a picture for his collection because he recognized me from the Funky4.

All this Vegas talk is making me anxious for my next vacation.....

Wow, you were at the Bay this past weekend? Did you catch the Ziggy Marley show at House of Blues on Friday? What a fantastic show. Very energetic and great vibe/accoustics in that place. He performed a couple of his Dad's hits including Jammin' and Redemption Song. Cool stuff.

That's neat that you ran into some gridiron celebs as well. Of course, not as cool as our #24, but oh well. I actually am 90% sure I saw Elton Brand at MGM. He made eye contact as he hustled by as if he saw me recognize him. I was unimpressed with Brand after the Champ experience.

Hailyeah... what a great experience! I am glad Champ showed that he was a human being and stopped to visit with you. Total class!

You know what, in the casual, snappy attire he wore he did not really look incredibly buff. Obviously he has to be built, but he was a leaner guy like you would expect from a taller CB. I'll just say the women in here would probably have swooned about in his presence. He looked like he takes excellent care of his appearance.

As far as the girlfriend goes, I can't even picture what she looks like now. I know my initial reaction was that she was extremely gorgeous, but in this and only this circumstance, I totally ignored that and gooned at Champ the entire time. I believe she was at least partially of Asian decent and was dressed trendy casual as well. Basically the best possible girl to have.

I'm going to Vegas for the weekend starting tomorrow morning, so I'll let you guys know if I run into any Skins.

With all my luck...I'll run into Westbrook and Connell. Westbrook will probably punch me in the face (ala Davis) and Connell will probably take my wallet (ala McAllister). Oh...the horror!

Anyway, please post that picture! We are all dying to see it!

As far as Champs size, I was surprised myself to see he looked kinda small but this was at camp and I spent most of the time watching Jansen, Samuels and LaVar so that might be why he looked small

Here's the Champ pic from the Bellagio. Pay no attention to the overly giddy, unshaven chap to the right.

Great Picture

Thanks for asking, AGibbsGirl!

We had a blast. We lost more than we won (of course) but had a good time doing it. Stayed at MGM...but hung out at the Monte Carlo most the time.

Saw the Lance Burton show at Monte Carlo. (VERY COOL)
Saw the "Bottoms up" Afternoon topless show at Flamingo. (VERY VERY COOL)
Saw Jake Johansson (comedian) at the Excalibur. (VERY FUNNY)

I learned craps and actually won playing. I played roulette (my favorite game) and lost the most there.

If anyone needs any recommendations when giong to Vegas, feel free to pm/email me. I LOVE that town!

I'll be heading back in August.

I tried to learn craps while there a couple of weeks ago but didn't have the patience. Ran off to a roulette table and lost. Came back to the crap table where the party I was with was and they were up big time.

If you go back and get a chance, here are some shows to check out:

Bellagio "O" Cirque de Soleil - Awesome, awesome show. Expensive though

Somewhere near Flamino "Justin Trance" - Good show on hypnotism. Sort of rated between R and X's. Very funny though

Mirage - GiGi - Free lounge act at Saloon Lagoon. She's a hottie

The Monte Carlo has free Craps lessons at 11:00am every day. The head craps supervisor gives the lesson and he very good at explaining the game...AND...he teaches craps as if we were playing with HIS winning philosophy. (Always play the pass line...take pass line odds...and place come bets with odds...etc) I recommend this lesson highly. The lesson fills up quickly, so if you go, get there 30 minutes early so you can grab a spot at the table. Once the lesson is done, they open the table up for a discounted $2 minimum bet and they literally "walk you through" playing. The 12 people at my lesson and I all played the same for an hour and we all walked away 70 richer! lol

This is another show is is a MUST see. You are correct about the price. I think our seats were well over 100 bucks, but worth every penny, IMO.

Back to the topic at hand~ VERY COOL PICTURE, HAILYEAH!
