Good story from John Clayton about Miami players training in Coral Gables and why we shouldn't worry about it.

P.S. I am back in Miami this weekend for my sister's graduation and I ran into Kelly Jennings (a CB from the Canes). I asked him about ST and he told me he's seen him down here working out, so at least he's working out. I still don't agree with his contract thing though :banghead: .
(Well I guess my first posting was in the wrong place although not for the reason I thought. I still think this should be in the Redskins forum as it applies to many of our players.)

Yes, it was the wrong place and has been moved here. If you're not sure where to put something, just ask one of the mods or admins or just put it in the NFL forum.

I still disagree... Sean needs to be with the team. Working out to stay in shape is one thing... working out with the team to gel is another indeed.

My feelings exactly.

Sorry, I have a problem with Canes players and their cult-like attitude thinking they are the best. I hope the Skins stay away from Canes in the future because all I have seen is a bunch of under achievers who hold out for more money. It doesn't help that a number of Canes sign with the devil agent, Drew Rosenhaus. I know this doesn't apply to all Canes and some of them are good people, but they definately have a different attitude about themselves that sets them apart from other football players.
As far as Sean Taylor is concerned, he is one of the most gifted athletes to come around in a long time. I wish he was here, but at the same time I know he could be sitting on his rear-end for a couple of months and still come back to the Skins and dominate.

Sean practicing with the Canes has everything to do with his contract. After one year, he is not happy about it. He picked his agents, he took his time doing so and not he is unhappy with the results.
Moss showed up with an extension, but he was under contract at the time of the trade anyway, so that's not much better.
If Taylor doesn't show up for the start of mini camp in June, he is heading down the track to TO land, IMO.

I heard on the Radio that Gibbs had talked to one of the personal trainers about how much ST had been working out. The personal trainer said that he has come once or twice, each time just playing basketball.

I thought they were all devils, not just one of them.

I agree. He could be working out at his house, it makes no difference. The problem is he's not working out with his teammates, and he's not getting into a groove with them.
Sean Taylor needs to be HERE. Because the coaches wants him HERE. It's not that complicated.

I agree. Additionally, I would point out that a lot of this is about communication as well. For example Shockey is communicating with coughlin and clearly moss and gibbs were speaking regularly when he was absent. ST's issue seems to be about his contract not getting in shape, which is bs, but even so he could maintain a more communicative posture. I think if he did it would go along with with the coaching staff and fans perception of his mia.

i saw the article metioned portis as one of the players that has been working out down there but i thought he had been working at redskins park??
i understand the thing about gelling with teammates but if you look at that list of players you cant argue with talent, i would love to see sean taylor be more like ed reed, ed is a great team player, as long as he is here for the mandatory workouts i dont have a big problem with him being down there

I know that this stuff is decided in the collective bargaining agreement but can you imaging any of the companies we work for tolerating an employee (even one who did not need to interact on a daily basis) working from home because he wanted to?
I am constantly amazed by how NFL players just do what they want in the face of their EMPLOYER asking them to do something different.
In that article it also said that Casserly made it clear to A. Johnson that he needed to live in Houston year round and train there and the guy did. Why does he do that and our guys (and others) not?
If it is a gray area in the collective bargaining agreement then I would put it into every contract - you must live in the city where your team plays.
What a weird existence.

This doesn't make it ok by any means it just makes it less wrong.
