Pass Interference in Madden 05

Let me see, how should I say this...


I have never seen a pass interference called in my Madden 2005 for PS2. I have the Pass Offensive/Defensive Interference Penalty raised to its max, in MY Madden. This is for offline, becuase I have never played online, yet.


Can someone tell me why this is? I repeat, I have never, ever seen it called, on me or the CPU. It's really wierd. Is something wrong? Has this happened (or not happened) to anyone?

I've had it when I accidently try to tackle the reciever before he gets the ball, but thinking about it I might be talking about 04 or 03 because I've started to just let the computer do most of the coverage. hell i don't know

it happens, its just very rare. kind of like when the computer opponent does a fake punt. we're talking extremely rare. the only other times is when you switch to the man on the ball and screw something up by hitting the wr or something like that.

i get so pissed when I'm going in for a sack and I try to switch to a closer lineman and dive at the qb right as he is throwing the ball then the next thing I know my DB is laying on his stomach and the opposing wr is off to the races.

Considering how often this is called in the NFL, and with the new contact rule, I think it makes the game highly unrealistic. I've seen it called much more in previous versions.

Just hope they fix this in 2006.

w/ your altering of the settings, something might have gone wrong. i havent changed any of the settings, and i see them everyone blue moon. granted, it needs improvement.

roughly 2 paddles due to that. and people say i have an "anger" problem. ha

I've seen it a few times. If you get in their way when the ball is released and they are just running in place, then it will be called... Or at least, it should

It usually happens when I try to "cut block" the receiver with my safety while the ball is on the way to his hands... :rolleyes:

That happens to me all the time, I never control the DBs because I'd get burned too much.

I've also never seen pass interference called.

I cranked my settings to the max and I have stil l to get a PI??? I don't get it and hopefully EA will address it. I'd also LOVE to see improved offsides/encroachment/false start AI. The CPU never jumps? Who knows, but hopefully they address PI and "illegal contact" penalties in '06.

I've seen offsides/encroachment/false start on behalf of the computer pretty often. I have, however, never seen the PI. I find it simply ridiculous. I'm not sure, but I suppose in a real NFL game there must be an average of 1 or 2 PIs per game.

I should have been more specific... I see the offsides/encroachment/false start penalties, but I'd like to see it where a couple guys move and you don't necessarily know who moved first.... Plus I turned offsides off b/c the CPU never jumps.... Has that changed? Do they go offsides now?

I have never seen it in 05 either. In 04 I saw it plenty, but in 05 its almost become a legitimate strategy within my friends circle to hold the reciever back.

I've actually plled a LB over to the slot WRs and then dropped into zone in certain situations.... I can't see the outside wideouts so I don't try to manually jam there.

I've had it happen to me a couple of times, usually when going for an interception or trying to switch d-linemen and dive at the quarterback but i dive into the wr instead.

man, even when they hit me before i catch the ball its alright. I don't remember getting pass interference penalties except on me that one time against Green Bay where favre threw a 40 yard bomb and someboy ran into Taylor and he got called for pass interference.
