Interesting. Mentioned we had an interest in Boulware.

Previously, Gibbs stated that he believed Taylor's absence was related to concerns about his contract. But the team has since sent salary cap specialist Eric Schaffer to Miami to meet with Rosenhaus, and Redskins officials say they are now certain that the contract is not the reason Taylor has remained in Florida. Gibbs said Rosenhaus has been reluctant to divulge details about Taylor's decision not to come to Redskins Park, but running back Clinton Portis reiterated his belief that the safety, who was a rookie last year, is burned out from football.
Does anybody understand why ST could be burned out as a 23 y/o who has the ability to make his mark at the highest level of football?

Yeah I didn't like that statement either. Burned out from playing a game. Boo-freakin-hoo.
One great thing I saw in the article was that Gibbs was working on the gameplan, with the shotgun and ZONE BLOCKING and such. I'm loving our OLine right now, and I think more zone blocking will work wonders for Portis.

Sike! Just playing:
"He's doing the proper training" in Florida, said Portis, who speaks with Taylor regularly, "and when he gets here -- whenever that is -- he knows what his responsibility is going to be. I know he'll be here for training camp."
See, told you guys he is coming! Now no more bad press!! Hear that BurgundyNGold???

Ricky Williams "burned out" young, but I think in this case "burned out" simply means that he is enjoying being single and rich in Miami (who wouldn't).
That said I am really starting to dislike Taylor. You certainly shouldn't raises for doing the bare minimum at your job.

The difference is that Taylor isn't taking 1/100th the pounding Williams did. I honestly think he is in FL getting loads of "attention" and doesn't want to come up off it.

i have no doubt ST is training in Miami...doesn't mean he couldn't have done it here....either way i am not to worried about it until he misses something mandatory....i give him the benifit of the doubt that he isn't holding out.
Secondly, the whole thing about being burned out. When ST is on the field he has fire, enthusiams, loves to play the game. I mean, the guys who were at fedex saw him jumpin' up and down on the sidelines, dancin to "Drop it like its hot." there were only 2 more animated people then him on the field Washington and Smoot.
Then only thing i worry about ST is his love for the game....sorta like Barry Sanders. I fear he will play for a awhile but not as long as he should. we can all argue why barry quite, but the fact is he didn't LOVE the game anymore. I think ST may be like that...regardless of his antics on the field.
Just an opinion that i dearly hope is wrong.
Still hailin' from college Park

Yeah. I would have loved to have Boulware involved with this team somehow. I love the way he plays football.

I'm encouraged that it is not a contract issue. ST will be in camp when it really matters. From what I see on the OTA videos, I dont think he is missing much.

I think "burned out on football" actually means ST is sick of the way he was treated by the media last year and needs a break from it all. Cant jump to the conclusion that he is sick of the game and will be the next Barry Sanders... he may be just sick of the way the immature media bends the truth... for that matter, IM sick of football then too!

Judging by his behavior in various off-field incidents, I'd say that Sean is coming to grips with being famous and rich. Plenty of people a lot older that Sean have flamed out in the adjustment period for that. There are things you want that you can't buy and things you don't want that you can't buy-off that come with that condition.
I can definitely relate to working hard to get somewhere only to find out you don't like everything about the situation when you arrive. Given time and the right people around him, I'm sure he will develop the maturity he needs to deal with his junk. With the wrong people around him, he'll develop bad habits. Crisis management is like that. I hope his cop dad is the former rather than the latter.

you have GOT to be kidding me with the burned out taylor situation. i really hope that isnt the case. cause if thats the truth but he still plays next year, he's not going to be dominant. he wont be playing with passion, or going the extra mile. i certainly hope that isnt the case. i'd much rather have him unhappy with his contract. it would have been interesting to get boulware, but that does look highly unlikely at this point.

Of all the scenarios that could be occuring I hope this one is correct. Our defense is going to be awesome/dominant with him. Good without him. He will be ready to go. He needs to apologize to Gibbs (phone calls) and get going.

Good point, i thought this was all a cover up for his contract wishes. But unfortunately the burned out situation seems to have truth.
He is supposeable working out in miami, but multiple sources including moss have reported that he is not working out with the other nfl players in the typical U training program.
CP reported that he was burned out like a month ago and I remember thinking that is ridiculous he just wants more money.
It seems that taylor is a headcase, either that or there is more to the story like he got hurt or into some kind of trouble down there. Of all the possibilities: total headcase, wants more money, partying his ass off, burned out on football, etc it still behooves me to figure out why he can't make a quick call to coach and say I will be there for training and we can talk then. I would think his agent would at least encourage this type of interaction even if he wants more money. Nothing really makes sense here, it is possible that his agent might be out of the loop as well. I guess that possibility that makes the most sense is just that he is dumb as rocks and is just being a dumbass.

Let me preface this by saying that this post is purely conjecture but here goes anyway.
I think that Gibbs, the master strategist that he is, knows that the point of contention for Sean IS his contract. But Gibbs is generously acting as a foil for the media (and fans like me) that would paint Sean as a TO type malcontent. By leaking that Sean is just “burned out” and isn’t attempting to redo his contract, Gibbs has given a very head-strong and proud Taylor a face saving way to get into camp without (A.) giving him more money or a better contract and (B.) making him look like an ass for holding out, NOT getting a better contract, and having to come to camp with his whiney tail between his legs.
OR
Taylor is afraid of showing up and being tested for roids now that he knows his Wizzinator isn’t going to work.
I think it’s the first one though.
Either way ST is being as dumb as left-handed screwdriver right now.

i'm beginning to think they decided to talk to Rosenhaus by sending the capologist, he comes back with nothing, which tells me perhaps Rosenhaus has no idea what's going on either.
