some of you saw my rant about where I live in another thread. I need to exhaust every possible avenue to get out of here, and the DC area is an area of high interest from both my wife and I. Where else to share this with the best damn fans on the planet. If anyone will help...my fellow skins fans will.

My wife is looking for a Human Resource Director / Manager / Generalist III position in the DC area. She is an HR Director of a nursing home here and has been for the past 6 years. She oversees about 400 employees. The only aspect of HR that she doesn't do is payroll, but she did that the first two years she was a director. If any of you know of an HR Director or HR Manager or HR Generalist III postion around that area, I would be eternally grateful if you informed me of such a position.

See, I can go anywhere in the country and do what I do (Collections / Credit Manager) but my salary is not enough to live on alone. Her salary would be. We moved here for her career, and we need to leave here for her career. But I need everyone's help.
Thank you for listening.
If you don't want to post it here, you can e-mail me at joelsarno@yahoo.com, again...thank you. I hope someone might be able to help.

Don't just check The Washington Post--although you should check that. Also check out newspapers like Roll Call and The Hill. THey are political papers, but their classified sections have ads for jobs like the one your wife is seeking. Check out relevant federal government jobs, as well, since that's a huge employer in the DC area.

If I think of anything else, I'll type it here. Good luck.

Thanks for the info...however, living over 2000 miles away from the DC area and not having a working knowledge of the area, I do not have access to those papers...do they have web sites that provides the information you speak of?

Try these:
The Hill (http://www.thehill.com/)
Roll Call (http://www.rollcall.com/)
Washington Post jobs (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wl/jobs/home?jcr=hp1)

thanks spence I will try those!!!!

Pennskinsfan...I appreciate the ideas...but we've exhausted those avenues already. For the past 3 years we've tried Monster etc, and being an HR director, the internet is too impersonal to pull off relocating for such a position. I appreciate the effort...keep up the good work guys..I really appreciate it. I need all the help I can get.

SHRM (The Society for Human Resource Management) has a job bank section to their website. That is going to be a VERY targetd job bank for your wife's line of work.

No problem, JSARNO. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to fire off a PM to me. I've lived in the DC area all my life and can usually find out a few things. I know the Fed gov is doing a lot of hiring right now. Otherwise, the job market here in the DC area is not strong--pretty much like the country as a whole, I'm afraid.

I wonder if she has checked there. She was the president of SHRM at our university back in the early to mid 90's...I would hope she would think to look there. Thanks for the reminder...that could really help.

Spence...I will definitely do that...thank you.

BLS means Bureau of Labor Statistics. I study their numbers very carefully.
