it's kind of funny, but a couple of years ago, Chris Hanburger was working at Universal Ford on Broad Street here in the west end of Richmond, right across the street from the office i worked in at the time (Innsbrook). Not sure where he is now, or if he's still there?
thanks PGiddy!

One Big "Atta Girl" for the Princess..... Job well done.
Chis H was a significant part of the Redskins and the NFL . . . his style of play, his devotion to his work ethic and his belief that you put it all on the field contributed to the dynamics of the game.
I for one am very happy he was a member of our Beloved Team.

Yep, great job, PGiddy! Nice work!
I vaguely remember Hanburger from when I was a kid. I just remember being amazed to learn that his name wasn't HAMburger. And that bowl cut he used to have, too....great Old School player...

Good job, great info for those of us too young to remember him.

Great Job, My old man used to tell that Hanburger was the glue to our defense for many years.

Thanks for a great write-up about my namesake and one of my two most favaorite Redskins of all-time (the other one being Darrel Green). Of course I am biased, but I think Chris belongs in the HOF even more than Monk, Clark, Grimm and Jacoby. Nine pro bowls in a 14-year career speak volumes of what a player he was.
I have had the impression for years that Chris and the Redskins did not part on very good terms. For the longest time, his name was absent from the ring of honor at RFK Stadium, a ridiculous slight. Hopefully, Chris and the Skins have mended their fences.

9 probowls from an 18th round draft pick? talk about finding a gem.

Great job, PGiddy! Chris' little brother was my high school psychology teacher. He used to start every class with a "Big Brother Chris" story. He came to class one day so they could go hang out some where; rode up to the school on this huge monster Harley. Wish I could remember those stories now. He was definitely one of my favorite players back in the day. You know, the kind you used to pretend you were when you wereout in the yard blindsiding your little brother. Thanks for the good article.

Great work PGiddy! Awesome read!
There was a long time after Hanburger that we had no pro bowler at LB, although we had some good ones(Olkewicz, Coleman). Hanburger reminds me of what True Redskins were/are about, guys like him and Pat Fischer that were too small yet still were feared and would knock the crap out of the other players.
